Letās say Putin is forced out. If Russia doesnāt withdraw, they risk losing the ability to defend their borders, suppress Belarus, etc. If they do withdraw, they need to fashion a new narrative because it was sold to the public as a denazification operation necessary to prevent Russiaās fall. Yeah, I know, how do you say ānever mindā to everyone?

Iād rather see Putin controlled, but things donāt work like that in Russia, from what weāve seen. FWIW, next guy up (or whoever wins King of the Ring) may be worse. Who knows?

I donāt know how to process all these reports of internal dissent in the Kremlin.
Are they valid ? Is it being overplayed or overhyped? Donāt know but would love to see Putin
sidelined. Be interesting if his buddy in China comes to his aide. We may be witnessing
a great event in history.
As for next guy up, Iām not seeing how he could be any worse. Earlier Putin
was even rattling the nuclear saber.
Anybody here care to speculate who that would be ? More then likely a military guy ?

China has to be both irritated and excited by Russias failure.
Irritated as a major allie is failing and it puts more scrutiny on what they do in Taiwan. And the kind of sanctions they may get if they invade Taiwan.
Excited in that it will give them more leverage over Russia as it is weak and they will exploit Russia for all they can.

A new leader in Russia may change that dynamic and they abandon China, which would cause much consternation for Xi, Russia sees itself as a European country.
And even if under new leadership Russia moves to a more Euro position China will exploit them economically.
Read a story that says Russia is buying Ammo from N. Korea.
If true what does that say about their Industrial capacity?

Like everywhere on the home front if youāre in a war you canāt play war and not devote the entirety of your efforts to the war. If you canāt mobilize your population and industry you canāt win a protracted war especially not a slogging land war where the other side is receiving lots of help.
They thought they would just roll into Kiev and itās leadership would flee the country where they could then install a puppet regime.
