Little background analysis on the China Viet Nam conflict. That war was initiated by Deng Xiaoping to show the army how ill prepared they were for conflict and how the PLA needed to modernize and it was to purge the military of hack leaders. Research it if think I am making this up.
They do to answer your question
Regardless of the motivationâŠâŠ
They got their butts kicked and were turned back.
And nowâŠtheir only ally in the Indo-Pacific is North Korea.
Even fellow Communist Vietnam hates âem.
Not exactly a winning alliance.
I dunno Bro.
Theyâve certainly been willing to SUSTAIN a lot more.
But thatâs because a dictatorship forced it upon their people.
Thatâs not the same thing.
Chinese have 1.4 billion people 18% of the worldâs population. They intentionally donât get into alliances, alliances never been their schtick historically, they like to go it alone. Now they have one with Russia a no limits partnership as Xi described it. Which I think is hyperbole on Xi part. We could go back and forth with point counterpoint but in the final analysis a conflict between the 2 Superpowers would be catastrophic to say the least. Iâll leave it at that
Not exactly.
Itâs that nobody WANTS to align with that regime, for obvious reasons.
By contrast, every other nation except the DPRK in the Indo-Pacific wants us on their side.
We are their insurance policy AGAINST the PRC.
Being one whoâs very familiar with the insurance industry, Better make sure you got enough reserves to pay those claims.
They will pitch in as well.
Thatâs what ALLIANCES are for!
Just my personal take on alliances their your ally until there are not. I.e. Germany, Soviet Union pact, until Hitler decided to blitzkrieg the Sovietâs.
Our allies are a bit more reliable than Hitler.
Canât find it. Can you quote a summary of their analysis ? Did they say we just threw
insults at them too ? Or is this merely an opinion piece by someone ( name please) ?
Can post a link and not get banned?
No they donât.
China still produces large amounts of coal. The US has largely waned off coal and relies on oil and natural gas.
China can dominate the renewable energy supply chain and still use coal.
Once oil and gas becomes obsolete at scale, US cannot revert back to coal because it would be p*****al suicide
Thereâs no renewable source thatâll replace gasoline for flying jet aircraft, powering tanks, fueling small non-nuclear watercraft, and rolling supply trains and convoys at this point.
Thatâs the thing that hamstringâs Chinaâs ability to win a long war against the West.
If they dare attack Taiwan, then theyâd better hope that they win VERY quickly. In any prolonged conflictâŠwith our submarine fleet to interdict shipments through the straits of Hormuz and MalaccaâŠtheyâd run out of oil and grind to a standstill pretty quickly unless Russia agrees to truck in a bunch to them over land routes.
I think the risk involved in that is one of the major reasons why they donât try such a thing. Well, that, plus our naval superiority and our network of alliances that have issues with China and would happily assist us in any operation.
I donât know.
Just asking for authors name, is it an opinion piece, and summary of text without
using a banned word ?
Iâve posted links several times on this string.
No one has banned me yet.
I just found the link. You canât even post it without a workaround because of a name in it.
Letâs not go there. We are on the line with stuff like this.
China just wants cheap oil. With sanctions against Russia and Iran, China/India are getting oil from Russian on a fire sale. Thatâs the big reason. China is the biggest importer of oil.
If it were only about a strip of mud.
Doesnât matter anyway. Putinâs getting what he wants.
Decisive arms were not sent to Ukraine when the war broke out. That was true in Vietnam too. This is why this war is still going on. putin exploited/ing these decisions.
