Volodymyr Zelensky understandably has little time for Vladimir Putin on the best of days, but a recent madcap proposal from the Russian premier appears to have really gotten under the Ukrainian president’s skin.
At an annual end-of-year news conference, held on Thursday, Putin was heard boasting about the Russian military’s use of the Oreshnik, a nuclear-capable missile, against the Ukrainian city of Dnipro earlier in November, suggesting his forces might next turn the new weapons system toward Kyiv.
“Let them propose… some kind of technological experiment – a kind of high-tech duel of the 21st century, let’s say,” Putin said during his address. “Let them determine some target to be hit, for example in Kyiv, they concentrate all their air and missile defenses there, and we will strike there with the Oreshnik. And we’ll see what happens.”

Nothing new really we just haven’t been used to a sustained high level artillery/air/drone conflict like this in 50+ years.
poutine does not care about human life. I hope you all know that by now. This is not only poutine. Russia under the Star was the same way. This mindset has been going on for centuries. The c.p china operates the same way.

I keep reading reports that the Russian economy is on the verge of imploding and current sanctions are really hurting them. I do think Ukraine can win, but they have suffered huge losses.
Ukraine has been over 10 TIMES worse than Afghanistan for Russia. +200,000 soldiers now killed in action in 2 years vs 15K or so in 10 years in Afghanistan. Crazy to think about.

I was reading that there is some surprise that NK have not defected en masse but cite the indoctrination and global isolation NKs are put through as a reason why they remain loyal. They have had virtually zero exposure to any culture outside NK.
A few years ago (I think it was 60 minutes) they were inside NK and asked NK teens what they thought Americans looked like and the picture they described was similar to what old WWII propaganda imagery of German and Japanese soldiers looked like, monstrous. The way they recoiled when the journalist shared, he was an American stayed with me. It was a mix of fear and confusion.
The paratroopers said they eventually hauled the North Korean into a vehicle and took him away from the front lines, after which he received food and watched romance films upon request.
Isn’t making them watch The Hallmark Channel against the Geneva Convention, as just cruel?
I am believeing Russia is on the brink of collapse with what they have poured into this war. I think Ukraine can win and get much of its territory back and I hope becomes a NATO member. I just hope we don’t cut them off, as they are so close.

They are starved for romance. North Korean women’s knees don’t bend. Which was a result of a communist era biological engineering experiment that went array. They wanted to engineer their women to look like Barbie but only the non bending knees portion of Barbie took.
It makes love making difficult. No wonder they are so willing to die.

A while back I read when NK troops arrived they just wanted to eat, get drunk, watch porn and listen to KPOP as they could finally get it on their cell phones without the NK government controlling access.
