Anywhere near .500 and its not even a thought.

The crowds will be decent in B12 regardless.
Just need to get past the buggling and get some extra UH fans.
Any Big12 school has enough Htown area fans to bring a crowd for baseball.

I’m watching every inning. I want 2 win.
I get the macro level reasons to run Ol Whitt off
but improved is a start.
Especially vs some of the Baseball Whistle Stops.

Edit:
Seemed like a large % in the seats.

The worst thing in the world of college baseball is for UH to have a really good season and they sign him to an extension. TW will never get it back to the way it was when UH was going to the tournament most years and hosting some years. We do not have those types of players anymore and they will not be coming here because we had one good season. It is not like there a small sample size that many of us are pulling from. This is because of a number of problems that have stacked up for many years. TW needs to go at the end of the year, even if they finish with a winning record. If the AD is not thinking about it on that level then he needs to go somewhere else as well!

I think we’re past a winning record having significance. Unless it comes with trophies, banners, etc.

For anyone that was there does that attendance number seem legit?

We may be, but I’m not sure the decision-makers are.

Regardless, I can’t root for losing - I can deal with the consequences of winning.

I understand. But you have to look at the costs of a .600 season. I’m sure they outweigh the benefits.

2017

I think TW will have to make a regional to survive. No tourney = no job!

We have a new AD now so I expect a change, I don’t care if he has a winning record this year he needs to be canned period

MAYBE, and that’s a big MAYBE, 33% of that crowd number actually there.

If we make the NCAAs, then Whiting isn’t going anywhere.

How do you know?
It seems a great season this year could be the start of getting UH back. How are they going to start getting back? With all the doom and gloom around the program it seemed near impossible for the Coogs to have a good season let alone a great season. How is that?

How exactly do you think the “doom and gloom” around the program was created?

And no, TW is not “getting UH back”….he is simply not capable of recruiting the upper echelons of talent that would resurrect a program.

Getting a few talented jucos each year has proven to not be successful.

I really don’t understand what else you need to see from a TW program in order to feel like we need a change in the near future? He has laid the groundwork and it is made of quick sand. I don’t know if he is a great recruiter or not because the only thing he participates in is a meeting with the recruit when he visits. He might go out a couple of times a year, if that. Could he change that in the future? Yes, but you get judged by your body of work over a number of seasons. Therefore, if he has one winning record this year, it still means his body of work has sucked ass over the past 6. Somebody within the AD has to step up for this program so UH can improve the program drastically in a short period of time.

Baller, the casual fan does not get it….nothing against @CougariDOC and others like him….but if you do not understand the ins and outs of how recruiting works in baseball or how programs are built….they don’t understand.

I better just read then. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::roll_eyes:

I don’t understand the ins and outs of what goes into recruiting like yourself. But if you can win with Juco’s and portal guys, that seems to be the name of the game these days. I think the admin looks at wins, if you are winning, that is not a recipe for change. TW may be on a short leash, and maybe this is make or break season for him, I do not know.

I was specifically speaking about the insights into how successful baseball coaches recruit the top players….it is very different animal then basketball or football.
