Sampson article on AM&P

I have not gotten any breaking news on this from theScore app on my phone, and I usually get those pretty quick when news breaks.

Not saying the tweet is true or false, just stating a fact.

I said it before and I will say it again.

All the money in the world could not get me to live in a small town like Arkansas (yes, I know Arkansas is sort of a State).

To each his own.

I’m sure I could be financially persuaded to move there for just .001% of all the money in the world.

This report reeks of prematurity. Just someone trying to be first.

However, at this point I’m going to be a lot more surprised if it ends up being totally wrong. Than if it’s proven right.

Even the source has a question mark. Lol, you guys are terrible. Thread title is just cluck bait, like all this stuff for the past few days.

We were and Pat did an above average job. Not fun living in a legends shadow. I’d take 25-8’s coupled with some 18-12 seasons. Guy’s last year we were barely .500. We ran the guy off.

Feel like this thread should be deleted or at least changed.

Not a real source and likely not true.

I remember reading just a couple of weeks ago where Sampson talked about how happy he was at Houston and considered the city his and his family’s home now, and he’s not looking to go anywhere. He mentioned what a nice thing he had when he was at OU and ultimately regretted chasing the next thing and leaving for Indiana. He sounded genuinely endeared to being here. I guess we’ll see.

It’s really gonna hurt those kids - mainly because when they committed here they committed to him. UH had no facilities, no winning recently, they bought his vision and that’s it.

It’s going to be a business decision by UH, if they want to cave and give more than 18 million or not. Sampson has done this before Montana tech named the court after him but he moved to bigger after a few years, He was really successful at OU and left for Indiana, anyone who is being blind to think he’s going to have some underlying loyalty to UH is being naive to the nature of the business. Sampson is playing for himself, be honest you would turn down millions to leave and go to fayateville if they’re offering you?

That’s how felt when I open up the basketball board and this thread was on top. Makes it seem like a done deal

Let’s offer Kellen the job and CKS will be hours away.

Not if this is the way it goes down

Maybe it’s just me, but wouldn’t Razorback fans be posting comments on that site to give their opinion about this hire if they considered this a legitimate news source?

I was kidding!! Just figured it would be interesting if Kellen and the grandkid ended up hours away after all the nurturing in the city and department.

Does a coach come back from rumors like this, that aren’t dampened due to a desire to make as much as possible? I guess Herman after the South Carolina talk.

Kellen is going with him. Kelvin isn’t going to make the move without him and his daughter.

Lauren hasn’t really been posting on twitter and to me that tells me either they’re gone or it’s in the air - she’s been consistent in her marketing for UH up until all of this.

You’d think if they were staying she would be promoting the future season tickets etc (I’m totally speculating, but the rumor is hot for a reason)

I think she has alot to do with this. They want more$ for marketing. They could spend 10million in marketing and still not sell anymore season tickets if they are not winning

Give it to her (them) anyways. I’m sure the budget requested isn’t crazy unreasonable.

It had to have been a blow to him when they gave Dana 4M a year.

He left OU for the same reason that it gave football priority.

What’s stupid is Houston will have a chance for a title in basketball way before football. I would have been all in on him and said we want titles what do you need from us to get them

Agree that Pat did a good job but he was from a lower-level conference. No ā€œbig nameā€ coaches had serious interest. Several used interviews to get better deals

So you’re of the mindset that someone can get to 3 consecutive FFs and he slips to above-average seasons the next 2, then he needs to be replaced?

some could say it was the impending ncaa investigation that was concurrently happening when he left
