Any idea when season ticket renewals will open? It seems really late.
I spoke to the ticket office yesterday and it should be out either this week or next.
Got the email today.
Sales must be low
Kind of expected with the rise in prices, the loss of GA, the schedule not having OU and Louisville, the loss of the coach, and the disappointing season. Ticket brokers wonât be trying to scoop up as many tickets either.
Hoping we can stay around 17K.
The main reason I bought three season tickets last year was to get guaranteed (and decent) OU tickets and âsupport the program.â I was only able to attend two to three games due to conflicts and weekday games. Iâm circling the Tech game and hope I can make it down for that one. Kids are in high school and middle school and have things every weekend.
I have to say I have not been impressed with some of the change implementation for the tickets by the new head of tickets for UH since he came here. I am not opposed to change as we have to maximize every single penny we got, and that takes some growing pains. However, I think the changes being made do not fit the culture of our fan base. I donât think some of the decisions are based on real and basic economic sense, e.g. supply and demand.
I fear what will happen this year and what will happen in basketball in the coming year after the Fertitta Center opens. I think some of the medium level donors and lower level donors are being taken advantage of by some of the decisions of the athletic administration.
Not happy at all. Just got off the phone with UH ticket office Matty. He told me that all the money is due on May1. The issue with that is you are given a 3 payment installation. As a business owner usually that means 90 day payment. The email was sent out 3/16. So by that logic you would have to pay 3/16. 4/15 and 5/1? A whopping 45 day full payment. Correct me if I am wrong but the last 2 years we did a 3 month break up of the money. Correct? What gives? Why is the so hard?
I couldnât help myself. After Renu tweeted her kids sitting in the cushioned chairs and said they were âtesting them outâ I had to retweet that they better be comfortable for $100k.
I think hoops will be fine with the new arena. People like to support new things. I saw it big time with the SMU arena renovation.
SMU doesnât have seats with a $50k mandatory donation attached.
The one thing I did notice was that the chair back option was not available when I renewed our seats over the weekend. That seemed like pretty easy money to me for the Athletic Department and my wife and I enjoyed having them so I hope they arenât going away.
Strange, when I renewed a few weeks ago, I was able to select the chair back option.
My renewal has the following option just before the Rice game:
BleaChair ($50 ea)
Order your season long red BleaChairs for your bleacher seats.
If purchasing less BleaChairs than season tickets, please contact the Houston Athletics Ticket Office
for seat placement.
Before last season, I asked my friend if we should get the chairbacks because his wife was now joining us and he said sure. So I called in August and said that they were sold out and would be ordering more. She said Iâll put you on a waiting list and we will contact you if any became available. I asked if they come in halfway through the season would they be pro-rated, she said âno.â So my friend and I bought some cushioned folding chairs and with 3 home games to go, I was asked if we were still interested in the chairbacks for $30 each.
Just made me curious if the people on the phones make up answers if they donât know or did someone actually say they werenât going to prorate and then later realized that was a bad idea.
