Semi-OT: #1 overall recruit Arch Manning commits to Texas

Time will tell.

Premier running backs need to hit the NIL because of the short life span in the NFL. Should actually start as Seniors in HS and have a head start.

Paying a kid 10 plus million and no guarantees he will even produce. I don’t like this nil stuff. It needs to have some kind of boundary.

These numbers are ridiculous, hard for me to believe. Are these individual boosters supposedly putting up 15 million with no conditions? That’s crazy if true

Lol Arch flipping from Texas would be fuuuuuuucking hilarious.

Now i see why coach Holgerson can’t land a good 4-5 star HS QB prospect these days.

I keed, I keed!

The sooner we reach peak NIL crazy the better. Some boosters need to be publicly seen to spend too much money on kids that don’t panout in college. Then they will be less foolish and that will be better for the game. It is pro sports.

If Clayton Tune wasn’t here Cameron would of come here. Hes trying to make himself into a 1st rd QB this season.

I can’t believe people believe that Arch Manning post. It was put on Message Board Geniuses for a reason.

Why do you think there has been a culture problem at Texas for so many years?

They and others are gonna burn thru the money paying for players they might get anyway. Bama ,UT etc will just be paying more for what they get anyway. We’re gonna be ok getting the rest. Plus you have the issue of manning being a 12 mil dollar player while the wr or lineman is getting way less so it’s gonna cause jealousy and ruin team dynamics. This isn’t the pros where all are well compensated. This nil is going to cause issues so the ncaa or someone needs to get a handle on it.

I’m the kind of person that loves watching things burn. So watching college football destroy itself is a like a huge fulfillment of said love.

That is a very nice way of saying he was fired for being a drunk.

$12 million seems very high, especially with no known corporate sponsor. Articles elsewhere point out the low-key recruitment process was to pick the best school for him to develop. Message Board Geniuses tweeting your post isn’t exactly an endorsement of the content.

Administrators : Do we really need to have UT topics on our board ?

It’s really bad when we have longer threads on a hated rival than we do on our own recruits.

The difference in beating North Shore

What’s the problem? If you don’t like it, don’t read it. There’s interest in UT, Aggie, Tech and Baylor programs.

I’m sure, if it was about something bad at UT, you’d be cool with it.
