Shipley's Headquarters

Anybody driven by here lately and know what kind of progress they’re making? I can’t wait to take my kids through the drive thru.

Only been to the Shipley’s near my house recently.

Yep, my kids are Shipley donut fans too. Will have to check this out later this year, maybe as part of going to an on campus game. Don’t think Ive ever heard of drive thru donut tour , but hey we are Houston. Thats some expensive realestate now isn’t it ?

Did Bluebell ever reopen its ice cream tour after
the incident few years ago ?

Best deal in town…Shipley’s on Ella. A dozen do-nut holes. Last bag count was 31

Is that a one off thing or is that their normal operation of stuffing the bag ?

I pay $1.70 for exactly 12 donut holes at a shop on Huffmeister :frowning:
To my kids that would be like winning the lottery.

If you live at the Gateway on Cullen student apartments, you’re going to love this place.

It’s kind of a neighborhood tradition for that location. Same owner and crew have been there forever!

Love me some Shipley donuts. :stuck_out_tongue: Students can hit’em up for late night donuts for those, all nighters.

Yeah, I pulled it up and saw it’s near Waltrip HS. Very old looking building from the 50s or 60s I’d guess. I think one of my Aunts worked their a long time ago.

When I was in undergrad I would pick up a dozen to take home to my mother and brother to have for breakfast the next morning. I think the shop was on Navigation or Wayside. They always had hot donuts even at midnight.

When I was at Waltrip in late 70s , Woodshop Teacher would let 1-2 of us go across the street n get Donuts for everybody at that location. It’s an Institution in that neighborhood. It’s the 2nd or 3rd oldest Shipley Donuts location from what I remember.

I love Shipley Do-Nuts and buy there too frequently. However, if I lived in the Pearland area I would prefer Pena’s Donut Heaven and Grill. Ray and Debbie Pena are avid supporters of the Coogs.

Do people even read the article? This isn’t about how great Shiply Do-nuts are, its about the fancy new head quarters right by UH! The area is really getting nicer. Maybe Pez can parlay it into some kind of sponsorship.

I suggested we should patronize the place when we have home games. Maybe a flood of coog fans will
motivate them to sponsor or make NIL deals with our
athletes.

I take it you suggest for like 11:00 games. I can see it now . 4 glazed donuts, kolache. Then 1 hour later-- 2-3 Beers at Tailgate :exploding_head::flushed:. Pls build more restroom stalls at TDECU asap.:grimacing:

No, the Homer in me thinks anytime before and after a
game is donut time. Maybe encourage them to setup
a pop up donut stand inside the stadium…We’ve got what another few years as TDECU and then it’s Shipley Stadium

And what’s with this 4 donut thing ? It’s a dozen per person in the car.

Yes, I read the article, but it brings up other thoughts. When you say Shipley donuts, my mind goes to donuts, regardless.

I can’ go quite that far but 3-4 per person, at least. No Shipley’s close but we have beignets just a few blocks away, there are good too.
