If ones intellect and emotions can’t handle it ,I suggest those folks to stay away,
The ghost of Old Sammy still haunts you !
Happy Halloween

Let’s just hope that we don’t have a return of that.

As someone wrote, won’t name the culprit. He/she knows who it is.
“If you don’t like it get lost”
Was he and heights the same guy….both lunatics for sure
Actually, no. In fact, I’d never insult Heights by comparing him to OldSammy.
Heights was a bit too loyal of an uncritical Dem, but at least he was a legit Coog, and an all right guy. I never saw him personally attack anybody. Hell, he and I used to hang out at coogfans tailgates and he was a fun dude to have a beer with. Not quite sure what happened to him. Years ago he stopped posting and stopped updating his social media. I hope he’s doing OK. I’d happily welcome him back if anyone knows how to get a hold of him.
OldSammy, OTOH…geesh. Not only was he NOT a coogfan (he was a dang RICE fan), but on top of that, he once tried to claim that it was OK for him to personally attack any poster that posted anything that he regarded as an attack on one of his favorite politicians (Hello…Hello McFly…anybody home…this is a POLITICS Board…that’s what people do on Politics Boards…criticize politics/politicians we don’t like…that doesn’t authorize you to personally attack the critic…if you don’t like that…then you shouldn’t be here), and at one point, permitted one poster (now deceased, so I won’t mention any names) to cyberstalk another poster that really never did anything more than criticize politicians that OldSammy liked, claiming that that poster “had it coming to him.” Yes folks. That’s what he said.
The idea that a non-coogfan should be able to tell true blue coogfans what they can and can’t say on their own fan board is soooooo WRONG on sooooo many different levels simply as a matter of principle. But I guess I could have put up with it had he at least been an all right guy, not done the things I described above, or at least been a fair moderator, but he was nowhere close.
On the one hand, he encouraged cyberstalking against and banned a guy who didn’t attack anybody or really break any of the rules, simply because he didn’t like his politics…and on the other hand…he didn’t even so much as give a public reprimand to someone who made a borderline racist remark about my wife and in any event called her something VERY insulting without provocation, simply because he agreed with that person’s politics.
Since OldSammy wasn’t willing to do anything about that…I took the law into my own hands and put that person in their place…fortunately, that poster is no longer around. So perhaps you’ll understand why a) I hope that OldSammy isn’t the moderator of the Politics Board 2.0, AND b) sincerely hope that no one here invites him back.
He was a cancer that ruined that board from within.
What happened to delmarred…haven’t seen a post from him in a couple years…hope he’s well
Another guy I haven’t heard from in awhile. As with Heights, I hope he’s OK.
I’d love to have him back as well. He and I didn’t agree on several things, but I hung out with him at many tailgates and basketball games, and my Dad knew him from various UH events. He and his wife were good people. He was subjected to a lot of unnecessary personal remarks from some of the Lefties back in the day, but then again, I guess anyone that wasn’t as Left wing as those guys were experienced the same thing, yours truly included!
Can we point out that the GOP has had complete control of state government for the last two decades and hasn’t fixed crime, the grid, public schools, or a host of other problems? And yet they are running to say they will fix these problems. smh Maybe time for a change.
I saw Delmar at the Tulane game. He looks good.
Happens when people don’t have critical thinking skills, which the majority of the populace in Texas seem to not have or abandon. Keep voting for the same old same old, you’ll get the same old same old. The pols take the masses to be fools, and they usually are right, to think so. .
It’s more complicated than that, but Democrats (or anyone else) are seen as corrupters of the social order that real Texans enjoy in the suburbs or Hill Country.
IMO, the country is going to have lots of turmoil over the next few election cycles. We’ll have to work through it and hope we all find our way, though I’m not entirely hopeful.
