I don’t ever recall Memphis having an air raid siren. Are they trolling us?
Those are cop cars…
I just checked the 2016 game. They had that noise back then too
This is top comment of the year
Speaking of which… we REALLY need to either retire “the Blaze” or let that sad sounding shite go. Just sounds awful.

Rock and Roll or Blues… Blues in Memphis tonight!
I thought it sounded ok last home game. Maybe I just forgot how it sounds when it’s working right
Yeah, I never really liked it tbh. might be an unpopular opinion
I became a Coog fan as a kid during the Run N Shoot years. I loved The Blaze. I still associate it with those teams.
I liked the fact that when they blared it we had just scored!
I love the Blaze and the Frontiersman.
They both need to sty a part f the experience.
Put it closer to the visitor section so they really get annoyed by it!!!
What is LGB? When I google it, all I get is the LGBTQ+ stuff.
If The Blaze is retired I will not be upset. We have the ringing of the bell to count our points. That’s enough for me.
Light [something] Brigade?
They sell proper hand cranked air raid sirens on amazon for around $300. Let’s get one and give it to them.
Anybody else remember the Civil Defense Air Raid siren that used to sound Downtown every Friday at noon?
Here’s info from a '22 Chron article about when it was turned off.
Or remember buildings with Civil Defense Fallout Shelter signs on their doorways to show you where to take basement shelter during a nuclear attack?
Yes sir. They had sirens dotted across the city. I thought it was super cool. Every Friday at 12:00 pm.
Anyone also remember the Goodyear Blimp circling around the city on weekends, mostly, with the lighted message board. It was fund to look up and watch. They tried their best to fly over high school games.
Part of Houston we knew and loved.
I heard the Blaze is an old siren from the Oil & Gas Rigs and they don’t make them anymore. They repair it but since they don’t make them, it’s getting harder to maintain…it definitely doesn’t sound as good these days but it’s tradition…
