Stadium Construction & Updates pt2

No offense but this is what I hate most about Houston Sports. Fans like myself go to the game and feel like we can’t get loud and cheer on the team and give them the home field advantage they need and deserve. Something as simple as standing up and yelling when our teams is on defense on a third and short with draw looks and anger from nearby fans who think they bought a movie ticket.

Almost to the point where I’d rather grill outside and yell and cheer with friends and family watching it on tv than go to the game and risk pissing off a boomer who is adamant we should be observing the entire game on our butts and using inside voices

Speaking of, are megaphones like this allowed at games?

Man, I’ve sat around some groups of less-mobile fans, and I haven’t really seen that kind of response in actual game situations.

Now people who just randomly stand up in the middle of a section that’s sitting down during “normal” game action are gonna get some looks.

This isn’t just a Houston thing, though. I’ve actually been at a game in College Station where this happened.

Personally, I try to be accommodating to my neighbors. I can make just as much noise sitting down as standing up, and if I’m around some folks who have a little more trouble standing, it’s no big deal to keep my seat as long as I can still see what’s going on. At least they’re at the game, which is more than most alumni can say. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yep, I read the stands before the game as I sit in the front row of my section. I try to stay down because my view is clear, but on certain plays…i cannot help myself. Most of the time, folks around me (us) are also standing on some pays. If there is a kid behind me, I stay down a lot more…but when we make plays, I cannot help myself. Enjoy the season folks.

We don’t exactly have a huge base of passionate fans. Very casual in nature. Fair weather.

That Louisville game against Lamar Jackson was special. Place was packed, fans on their feet and screaming as loud as they could. Louisville had no idea what hit them. They had so many false starts that Lamar and his offensive line were yelling at each other on the sideline trying to figure it out. The fans really made a difference that night.

That game proved up our potential as a great home venue. Louisville was SHOOK.

I recall a survey of AAC players (during the Herman era) and the majority said that Houston was the toughest venue to play at.

I have 3 that they gave out at TDECU stadium years ago, they have UH, TDECU Stadium, and Inaugural 2014 Season in white letters on the red megaphones.

BTW, I would post a photo, but I am having internet problems and can’t seem to get them from iPhone to computer so I can post the photo.

A new cable company has been putting in new underground cables and ran their ditch witch over the Xfinity cables yester day and I was completely shut out from about 2PM yesterday until about 1:30 pm today. I only have the internet and phone now, still no TV.

I’ve brought this to a basketball game without issue…

You can actually just copy and paste it from your phone if you’re on the site with your mobile.

I appreciated the tour, but wish they would have done more panning instead of always focusing on the tour guide. Someone really liked grey and it was all over the place. Personally, I prefer brighter colors, maybe more red and white. But grey seems to be he “in” color for so many of the new houses.

Thanks coogman91, I didn’t know that was a possibility.

I was wondering why there’s so much black. Maybe they learned from the indoor facility. A lot of the red paint on the outside has turned pink. Same thing happened at TDECU.

I think it should have more blue trim.

Seems like they concentrated on the end zone addition and fan amenities more than bells and whistles in the ops center. Somewhat surprising…
