So they won’t hear the complaining from their future Aggie employees
Yeah I’ve kinda wanted to try the Trill burgers, but no burger is worth a super long line especially when there’s other junk food options. I’ll wait until the craze dies down.
Regarding tailgating, it does need some attention. Maybe they can focus on encouraging that more , especially while there’s not much excitement on the field. Maybe do a weekly contest and award the top 5 tailgates with some perks at some point during the games. Just something to get more people interested and normalize it as a thing we are gonna start doing here more often. Maybe we already do something like this, if so, I haven’t noticed. If there’s energy out in the lot, maybe it will carry into the stadium. Will probably encourage more alcohol sales to keep the buzz going. Drunk energy is better than crickets lol
Contest definately, but how about some tailgating pic on the big screen, you should be able to take them and send them into the stadium your self. How about drone photos of big groups around campus, I am sure the students would love to see their tailgate phots on the big screen. There is so much game day activity that needs to be done until the natural buzz of a sold out stadium takes over. The band after Cougar Walk tries but there needs to be more. How about some vertical wind flags around campus, just something to show the campus is alive and ready for game day!
Early season tailgating is rough especially last week when it was raining on and off most of the day. I have never been a big tailgater we used to hangout at Pinks before the game until they closed it down, now we have moved to EADO. I sweat through my clothes enough during the week.
I know I was harping on the partitions but that is something they may not even know about, over all the stadium experience is much improved over the last couple years, and thank god we built TDECU with a large concourse.
If you have been to Norman for an OU game, the stadium experience is not that great, but the tailgating at every Greek House around campus and every parking lot make you feel like it is game day.
I didn’t know Pinks closed. Tough to stay in business in that strip center it seems.
Pink’s made it work, only stopped working when they went to renew their lease and the landlord cranked the rent so they vacated.
Ah. Makes sense.
Texas’ has an underwhelming tailgate scene. Most people go to restaurants and bars. If you are thinking huge parking lots next to the stadium with tents and RVs, not at Texas.
No tailgaters of the week award from a local sponsor? Nunez has a lot of low hanging fruit.
Will Pez stop by the UHAA tailgate at O’Connells?
I agree. I used to have seats in the 300s. I had to walk downstairs to go to any bathroom.
For what’s its worth, the suites don’t have partitions between the urinals either.
We should take a page from UT and try to have a pregame concert outside the stadium before each game. And make it names people know. Get Paul Wall one game. Get a country act like Parker McCollum. Some local rock act, I don’t know. And advertise them to everyone as free. We’ll have tons of people on campus who haven’t been on campus before, and maybe they’ll stay for a game.
Yep, this would be a good idea
I’m not talking about partitions between urinals, I was talking about the non-locking doors and the mal-adjusted and missing latches in the stalls. I used the term partitions which is the construction term for all restroom dividers. My wife tells me around half of the women’s stalls also don’t latch correctly and you have to hold the door closed. I really did not need to explain this to you directly, but someone in athletics job is to read this board and I want to make sure this issue is seen. I have been to many events in the club and have visited those restroom and even the private staff restrooms behind the club.
This is one of those issues unless you use the restroom checking the latches is rarely done after the initial punch list during construction and this could easily be something no one has ever notice because no one important is dumping in the non-AC restrooms. LOL.
The sound system and new screen are amazing. But the sound was way too loud. I was on the second deck. It was hard to have conversations on the top level. People working at the stadiums should check volume levels around the stadium.
Anther idea I have. Get a big electronic billboard and plant it right on 45 at Cullen. Advertise the game all week. $5 tickets, whatever. How many people that pass by there daily know there’s a stadium back there?
@snoopcoog Great ideas, keep them coming!!! It will only encourage and pique(peak) the interest of developers.
Lol The Boulevard is 100x better than what we’ve got.
Maybe force all tailgaters into one lot. The blue lots. Forget tailgating in green.
When you drive down Cullen, tailgaters all clustered in one area. Tailgating in green at the back of the campus sucks.
