My TDECU experience was great The renovations are going to add a lot of atmosphere in the stadium. I miss the pregame pavilions. Anyone know of any plans to get alumni groups together with any sort of pavilions pregame or is that done. It seemed Cullen was blocked off and well attended by the students but what is long term goal for pregame? We directed some recruits family to the practice facility pregame, we were at the Alumni pregame in alumni facility, didn’t know when construction is all said and done what the plan was. Space City stadium will be nice, it needs to be used by HS football and camps, XFL, concerts and overflow for big basketball games.
I was at Texas Tech this weekend and this is exactly what they did. It was a great atmosphere. They also have their band practice for family and friends before each game, and then they do a short pre-game show in the stadium before the game starts. It was a good experience. FYI their speakers were super loud too, but they did some cool things with the lighting to keep the crowd engaged.
You can get creative with night games, everyone has a phone, so turning lights out with phones is a neat atmosphere. Drone shots around the stadium can build excitement. Tech’s endzone facility just opened, haven’t been there yet but it looks nice.
I like having red lights illuminate the stadium and the crowd. Really changes the atmosphere to production that includes the stadium itself and the fans.
Yep Tech is killing us in everything except basketball, there game day atmosphere, they fill the stadium, marketing, NIL etc, it’s really a shame some small school in Lubbock Texas is embarrassing us
IMO, the experience at TDECU stadium often times feels like high schoolish. I look around at other programs and a lot of them have during the game gimmicks, like a song they play that everyone sings to. I know we have Whomp Whomp, but so do high schools now I think about the basketball team and they play “tops drop” to get the crowd going. Hopefully that will become a tradition for basketball. What tradition does the football games have to get the crowd hyped up?
