Wouldn’t be the first time we lost seats for improvements. When they put chairbacks in some of the 100 level visitor side a number of years ago, I know we lost a couple seats per row.
I think people are just losing interest in sports all together kinda started with Covid i and probably a lot of others just realized they didn’t miss it sports as much as they thought they would, and then all this NIL crap and portal stuff, people are just tired of it and don’t care anymore, I especially don’t watch NFL or NBA anymore, if college sports gets more like that I will probably lose interest altogether lol

Your thoughts are of the minority. More people watch pro and college sports now than pre-covid.

Americans watch far less TV than they did a decade ago. But they watch even more football.
Viewership of the NFL is up 6% over last year, as of last week. Much of the growth this year is from Amazon, which has increased the ratings for Thursday Night Football by more than 20%. (Monday Night Football is also up.) College football viewing had increased 10% through week 11, according to Fox.
But this isn’t some one-year blip. College football viewership is up 20% this year compared with 2013, according to Fox. The NFL is up as well, though not as much.

Ticket prices have gone up and up where as TV size and quality has gotten significantly better.

I went to two Baylor games last year…The Iowa State game, it was a monsoon. Sat in the upper deck and stayed dry. The UH game, was in the shade for a while, but eventually the sun covered the entire east side and I had to move.

It was opposite for me. I realized how much I missed sports during COVID.
I’m still watching the NFL pretty regularly, but I’m with you on the NBA. It’s not entertaining. I hate that because I grew up a big Rockets fan, even into Yao days and James Harden. That was 5-6 years ago. The NBA product has dropped off dramatically in last few years. Everyone plays for themselves. It’s either shoot a 3 or drive to the basket for a wild shot while traveling. Gimme the pick and roll Jazz.

Yeah I remember when the Rockets were winning the championships with Hakeem, Clyde etc it’s was so exciting, now it’s terrible lol
I made the most of it and enjoyed my time training and spending time with family but it hurt not having sports to watch at night.
What turned me away for a period of time was the political nonsense being incorporated into the NFL and NBA (bubble) games.

IMO this is not even the same game. The three point line move is the main “culprit” for me.
Basketball to me is:
Center/big man - Kareem, Hakeem
Power forward - Mark Malone
Small Forward - Bird
Shooting guard - MJ
Guard - Magic
While I like watching my Coogs IMO they will never compare to Phi Slama Jama.

With all thats going on at the stadium I hope they improve the cosmetics, the upper decks have looked like an abandoned construction project since it opened.

I’m not sure what you want done to the upper deck appearance.The concrete steps & underneath the bench seats won’t ever change. When fans aren’t seated, you’ll always will see the concrete underneath the bench seats. This is the same in all conrete stadiums. Please explain what is unfinished in your opinion.
