We did at Robertson and Jeppenson - high school kids remember games there in the 70s, 80s, etc on an annual basis and everyone remembers Hofeinz for basketball
When UH redid Robertson in 2000 or so they slowly got out the high school business and that killed a lot of interest from the local community
Now the community has been wiped out thereās little to no reason for the average person to come to UH for casual purposes and bridge the gap
There are already two stadia in Houston that can support soccer. Sacrificing even a little bit of the football fan experience to accommodate Soccer would have been an unforced error.
I do think we should bring in more High School games, though, and Iād also be a fan of letting TSU play there if they wanted.

Coming back to the topic.
Some of you have mentioned bathrooms, better concessions. The main concern for me is the actual opportunities to renovate the stadium. How much can we really improve capacity after installing our new scoreboard/football facility?
Our stadiumās design, actual structure can probably be maxed out in the mid 50ās now. We got an amazing deal on our stadium but it comes with obvious restrictions.
What would you like to see renovated or expanded? We already know getting most seats covered is likely unlikely. Could we look at a re-design, say the main central stands? Everything is possible but cost will far exceed what we can afford.
I do not think some of you realize two basics things in construction.
Feasible from an engineering point of view and an actual budget.
We have always done more with less. Unlike others we do not have the puf.

Honestly one thing Iām still happy about with the design is Red Bullās ability to land in the area, as that footprint is big enough. I wonder what would happen once they close up the gaps for the 60k expansion (though, with the giant TV screen, that might not be the case anymore, and will fit up to like 50k).
I say we go full Kansas and tear down the visiting sideline and student section upper deck and get some more seats added.

More tsu folks want to play closer but unfortunately I think the ship has sailed - Robertson made sense for both but once they did the first renovations the attitude of some changed on our side me for whatever reason despite them having strong crowds for some games
Having both teams and weekly high school games in the same stadium actually had value to folks in the area as it attracted more folks who may not come to campus at all
