I was close to doing this myself, lol. Simple way the conference could decide it is by having each program ranked their top choices. Then try to line them up as best as possible. Btw, I am still hoping for divisions with all 4 Texas teams together even if its unlikely.
So there is a tweet that UH and UCF get to play each other twice in basketball the first two years in the conference (while OU/UT are still in it), and now the sky is falling?
Sounds like some have an issue with accepting that UH is the new kid on the block, and I am not just talking Big 12. The other Texas schools have 80-120 year rivalries going and they are just supposed to break them up?
By time the next two years are up, the Big 12 may not even be 12 teams if there are more additions from the PAC.
Not sure there is a falling sky. Mostly irritation, annoyance, and vocal disappointment. If someone goes all “Big 12 isn’t even worth joining now” then yeah that’s dumb but I don’t think that’s where anyone is.
I don’t think any of our suggestions involve breaking the other Texas schools up on our account. Any suggestions about splitting up the other Texas schools involves objections and concerns by schools outside Texas.
I don’t care about the basketball scheduling in particular except the prospective outlook for football scheduling. Either for the conference itself (if there’s only one annual opponent that’s dumb all around IMO) or us in particular (our one annual is 850 miles away… or there are three annual but we’re in a non-integrated Big East circuit).
This ONLY applies to the 2 years OU/Tex still in Big 12…It is NOT long term and means nothing…we will play the Texas Big 12 schools every year…It was our only demand when we joined.
a 12 team BIG 12. 9 conference games. UH will play every team except 2. UH will play the 3 texas schools every year. The 4 Big 8 schools will probably play each other every year.
