We have no offensive game plan. We dribble around the 3 point line until there’s 5 seconds left and force a shot. There has been times we run an inside/out offense and it has worked effectively. No idea why we have not run that more.
I don’t know why we don’t screen away from the ball. We only pick at the top of the key. Teams have figured that out. They keep the double team in place, there is no roll, at the top of the arc.
We’ll be ok if Jojo can play a full game and he and Sahko combine for 12-14 points. That’s enough with Snacks giving us the same by himself.
Snacks with a double-double and 13 boards today. That kid is pure unadulterated talent. If we make the Elite Eight this year I’ll still be happy and very proud. Something more that that will be Sampson’s March genius.
I was very impressed at how Arizona players were so calm under pressure. There may something to recruiting these big Euro players, many of them older and much more experienced than most American players…and yes, probably much better coached than our AAU teams…
But I think the obvious facts that haunt our Cougars is no inside bigs, shooting too many treys and getting caught too young…
If there was a player that could exploit the weakness of the other team, it would be Cenac. His size and ability to score from 3 to score from the inside could give other teams problem and could give the Coogs an added inside out play. Jacking threes isn’t going to work every night.
There’s a reason Lebron and Kobe developed an inside game and used it from Hakeems lessons.
Our offense doesn’t look good when Tugler is in foul trouble and we have to use Sakho for 30m.
Sampson just needs to stick with Flemings and move Usan to the 2. Flemings has the skills but he’s still a freshman and his decision making is still a work in progress. We’re still a great team but we need our freshman to become stars and close.
