The moment everybody has been waiting on...greatest UH quarterback?

If Case had the ball and 1 minute, he would figure out a way for us to win if we were behind. He did that better than anyone. He didnt like to lose. Greg Ward jr. was a great one for winning, too. 29-6 as a starting QB for Houston.

Kevin Kolb helped bring us back from the dead

Originally going to Okie Lite but Briles and his offense got him to switch…
As far as the top quarterback at UH I too believe you have to break it down to the different offenses.
That said my favorite quarterbacks ever at UH were Case and Moon Mullins, because they were coaches on the field…great leaders with the will to win.
I would say DC Nobles has to be close because he was so silk smooth and very fast. He ran the veer to perfection.
Andre and Klingler were outstanding athletes and also ran the run and shoot like it was supposed to be run.
I loved Ward for what he did at UH, but frankly I would not put him in the upper tier of Coog signal callers.
If you pinned me down I guess I would go with Keenum as our best ever. He could have ran any offense we have had here. Coach Yeoman would have loved him…

Honestly as a qb, instincts, decision maker and play maker it’s Case by a long shot. The only aspect Kolb had over him was arm strength.

ESPN assembles a bunch of analysts to rank the top 10 QBs in the league. Here are the 10 attributes they rank:

  • Arm Strength
  • Accuracy
  • Touch
  • Mechanics
  • Field Vision
  • Decision Making
  • Compete Level and Toughness
  • In the Pocket
  • Rushing Ability
  • Second Reaction

I am not going to rank all the UH QBs to determine who is number 1, but just eyeballing the criteria, I think Case Keenum would be at, or near the top, at most of these attributes.

And arm strength is icing on the cake and a good thing if a qb possesses the rest.

I voted for Danny Davis. Others on the list had better numbers, but Davis led the Cougars to the most improbable championship in the history of the school and won the Cotton Bowl to boot. He was a winner and made everyone around him better.

Not voting based on the behavior of the host in other threads but still enjoying the conversations with other great Cougars of varying generations.

No argument from me. Davis was a winner.

I started laughing at the Heisman when Gordie Luckbaum didn’t win it.

He also recruited Ed Oliver. In reality !
