King - I don’t think so.
Heck Tune and Clemens were both leaps and bounds better.
Give me Lionel Wilson over him

Any list without Jimmy Klingler and Donald Douglas…
Danny Davis is an icon but Case is on Mt Olympus. That guy gave my family and I so much enjoyment. There’s not much I can say as a Coog fan to repay him.
He was one of my football coaches back in high school funny enougn.
As I also said with running backs - I know this is a “greatest” list not productivity list - however - for interest -
the top ten career yardage passing leaders -
C. Keenum
K. Kolb
C. Tune
David Klingler
G. Ward Jr.
Jason Mckinley
A. Ware
Chuck Clements
David Piland
Jimmy Klingler
Keenum and Ward are my favorites, but I’ve only been a fan since 2009. Shout outs to Turner, Piland, Jones, Postma, and Ike!
Agree. I actually voted for Keenum.
But it was a tough choice. Not only did Ware win the Heisman, he did so without any games being on tv (due to probation). That is very rare! Did anybody else ever do that in college football? Maybe so, but Ware did it for UH.
I also have strong soft spot for DKlingler. The production was unprecedented.
Bo Burriis
CLAYTON TUNE
Didn’t Kolb help bring us back from the dead? Four year starter too.
Not only number of years, but games per year. And bowl stats didn’t count. So you’re likely comparing 11 games vs 13-14.
Ware’s stats are also skewed low because he didn’t usually play all 4 quarters. Klingler played in 8 games and passed for 865 yards in 1989. Imagine if Ware had most of Klingler’s yards plus 3 more games. >6000?
My view is that Ware and Klingler were equal at QB. Ware was the breakout QB for the R&S, put up gaudy stats and won the Heisman. Klingler continued the success that Ware had, put up gaudy stats, but defenses were starting to catch-up to the R&S. R&S was starting to be known as a gimmicky offiense, and Klingler never was in Heisman contention. Both Ware and Klingler were great college QBs.
I think at least a half a dozen or more can be called great. That said a QB has to be the team leader and I think Danny Davis set that standard in our first SWC season. He put that team on his shoulders in all the big moments and took us from “who is U of H” to “WOW they’re really good.”
In total, Case was/is the best to come through U of H.
I really don’t know who was greater, Keenum or Kolb. I know they were really nice guys. They both took the time to talk to kids and sign autographs. We still have a towel that Kolb gave to my son after a game.
When Jugular John ran the score up so much on Eastern Washington and Klingler threw for 11 touchdowns in that game angered many Heisman voters and they said they would never vote for Klingler as a result.
There is one player on the original list who got injured, quit on the team and then transferred. Just me but how can anyone like that deserve any votes?
No John O’Korn?
Correct answer. All of the above.
Case for sure. Dude doesnt have the prototypical NFL QB size and is still making a living on the largest football stage of the world. Case was special for us. Shead has moved up to a close second all time favorite athlete, but Case is the best ever. A true role model!
