The Rice game kills everything about this season

You can’t say we lack Big 12 depth to compete when we lose to Rice

You can’t blame NIL when we lose to Rice

You can’t get angry over recruiting when we lose to Rice

We barely had depth to beat UTSA…which is not great this year and got embarrassed by Rice.

We couldn’t even win the AAC with THIS P5 roster.

We’d get boat raced by Tulane, SMU & Memphis and Herman would have game planned to embarrass us.

If we get bowl eligible then Rice becomes moot.

In my opinion, ever since the 50’s Rice has been moot. We waste too much time talking about em

If we fail to win three more regular season games, then yeah, the Rice loss doomed us.

But if we win three more regular season games, then as CoachV said, Rice didn’t kill jack squat.

This staff had 4 years to win the aac and never did it. Why would they win it this year? Tulane would beat the doors off our defense by running up the middle.

Rice killed a lot of fan interest, regardless of whether we make a bowl.

Agreed.

We average 4 wins per season when we lose to Rice and hardly ever make a bowl game.

Which means it’s a pretty good barometer of suckitude.

Losing to Rice means, on average, a .300 season. Stats go back to 1971.

This should have been heavily discussed by our media at that time. And our fans.

What did we do after that embarrassing loss? We were shut out of an Offensive TD by TCU. Our offense kicked 2 FG’s. That was it.

Against TCU and KSU, combined, we have scored 6 points offensively. Our ST scored on a kickoff return.

Against TCU, UT, and KSU combined we have scored 30 points. 10 per game.

That is a team that loses to Rice. This is a Helton team, a Dimel team. Low talent. Result of poor recruiting.

Is that really a rebuttal to decreased Houston fan interest? Having longhorns buy tickets to our game?

We had more Houston fans for that game than any other.

Are you making that up? Because we definitely had more for TCU.

No.

We had more for UTSA also.

And even if we did, the TCU game was after the Rice game.

Didn’t dampen enthusiasm or fan support significantly.

The UT game looked like a sea of red.

Even for Sam we had 35K in a 40K stadium.

The Rice loss didn’t affect attendance or fan support much.

It pissed we fans off, for sure. But I can’t say that it reduced our fan support.

Might want to get your red/orange vision checked. I feel you’re making these comments in bad faith.
