Looks mostly red to me!
Are you confusing ticket sales with attendance? or you’re saying that the stands were almost 90% full for this game. C’mon.
Attendance is measured by ticket sales.
And the UT game, a packed house. Didn’t we have to add student tickets due to the demand?
That was after the Rice game, was it not?
That’s the UT section which was about 1/4 the stadium bruv
So you’re gauging fan interest on ticket sales that were made before the Rice game? please explain how that correlates with fan interest more than actual attendance. The UT game was heavily attended by longhorns, however we’ve established that you have difficulty differentiated red from orange.
If 1/4" of the fans were horns, it supports that the UT game couldn’t have been the most heavily attended by UH fans.
Our fans showed up better for that game than any other.
That’s why they had to add additional student tickets.
DEMAND.
What a silly point to argue. The UT game was always going to be the highest attended game. Losing to Rice only swayed the ratio of red/orange. In what scenario is that game not a sellout?
One of the main reasons it is a sellout is because OUR FANS show up for games like that in greater numbers.
As I said, Rice doesn’t affect that.
It didn’t this year either.
Oh, missed the original point. Louisville has to be the most attended by UH fans, by far. This game was going to have UT fans, but I was surprised it was only about 1/4. I thought it would be more UT fans than I saw, I was amped by the way UH fans showed up.
But I would have to agree that it was not the ‘most heavily attended by UH fans’, again, that would have to be the Louisville game.
Now, to be fair, we are playing Texas teams now, with heavy alumni bases in Houston. They are going to show up for their squads. We just have to show up too
The main reasons our ticket prices have dropped significantly on the secondary market is because of a decrease in fan interest. Our last ever game vs the Texas Longhorns doesn’t change that. That’s why season ticket holders are charging so little for their seats.
DEMAND.
By your own example, TCU had even more of our fans.
Guess what?
It followed Rice.
So obviously Rice didn’t have the effect you imagined.
Two things generate box office:
- winning
- the opponent
Huh? TCU game had less fans than UTSA.
But more than UT, according to you, DESPITE following the Rice game.
Given that, your argument isn’t very convincing.
Both games were following Rice, where’s the inconsistency?
Yet we had great UH turnouts for both.
FAR MORE than in most previous seasons, including seasons with Rice victories.
As I said, the Rice game had little effect in that regard.
When did we play UT or TCU in recent seasons?
I can remember TCU drawing crickets in many of our past matchups; one bowl game excluded.
Trust me. I’ve been watching for more than 40 years.
This TCU attendance was really an anomaly in a GOOD way.
As I said, Rice didn’t affect it much.
The last time they played here was 20 years ago. That’s a relevant data point to determine if there was a decline in fan attendance this year?
