The Rice game kills everything about this season

Even in the UH’s heydey in the SWC days TCU wasn’t a big draw.

That it was THIS year…FOLLOWING their loss to CU and our loss to Rice…should tell you that neither loss made much of a difference.

Again, do you care to comment on how ticket sales made before the season are a greater signifier of interest than actual attendance or ticket prices before/after Rice?

YOU said we had more fans for TCU than for UT, despite the fact that that was right after the Rice game.

That should tell you that the Rice loss didn’t have much affect.

Following their appearance in the national championship game? When were the majority of tickets sold for the TCU game, before or after they lost to Colorado and we lost to Rice?

Before…but again, that only shows that the Rice loss didn’t have much effect.

The seats had been sold anyway. The Rice loss didn’t change that.

Walk me down this causal chain.

If the tickets had been sold before, which YOU seem to acknowledge, then obviously the Rice loss didn’t affect attendance or fan interest.

If the tickets were sold before Rice, how can they be used as a gauge for interest after Rice?

Because it shows that our fan interest and attendance were largely predetermined, and neither dependent upon, nor significantly affected by, the Rice loss.

Further proof of that is the fact that we had to put additional SRO/student tickets for the UT game, which came even later.

What caused the drop in secondary ticket prices?

Didn’t stop us from selling more tickets for UT.

That’s only the measure of your “bandwagon” fans.

Not your true fans.

You’re gonna go with the No True Scotsman argument?

I think every game we have played this year has shown that the coaching staff had the team woefully unprepared for the particular opponent that week.

It is as if we had no film or knowledge of our opponents.

On several occasions I would agree.

The inescapable fact is that our season ticket sales will decline in 2024.

The hype for our first year in Big 12, and playing UT at home, will be gone.

Winning sells tickets. Always will. Dana isn’t winning. BY FAR his worst problem is recruiting. What is it about this season that is boosting recruiting?

Baylor is favored on Saturday. If,indeed, we lose then we are doomed to a losing season.

5 years later Dana could not beat Rice. Was behind 28-0. That has predictive value.

Sad as it is to say, you are probably right on that first sentence.

But that won’t just be because of the Rice game.

It’ll be for the entire season.

ESPECIALLY this latest Kansas State abortion, unless we can somehow win three of our last five.

Here lies another hijacked thread. The tombstone reads:

“Much ado about nothing.”

There’s no hijack.

Just discussing the subject matter.
