The Unbreakable Game | WVU @ UH | 11AM November 1st | FS1

I think the school is sick of inflating attendance numbers and is going to tell it like it is.

Weigman had a relatively bad game with his turnovers. Defense came out flat and got gashed a ton. Credit to WVU for their game plan and execution. They studied Tech and UA tape and called great offense against us.

CWF in the post game interview.

This current team has nowhere the talent that the 2015 squad did.
Take a deep breath and understand that despite the ugly loss today we continue to overachieve expectations.
Hopefully we regroup and win at least two of our remaining games and finish 9-3.
That would be incredible.

Today negates everything from last week. Well, at least we had a good week leading up to today.

How did it go when the 2015 team was introduced?

I didn’t hear much booing but was sitting in the Queenie Party Patio. Maybe a little but most were applauding the team. Vibes generally sucked across the board all game. On the field and in the stands.

Very true. The Coogs are ahead of schedule in the Fritz era in many ways. Just need to keep eye on the prize. Our fans might give up easily but the UH organization just needs to stay the course.

There is a lot to do in Houston on a saturday, it’s just how it is.

I just don’t understand why the student section was so bad. I was a student during the Levine years and student attendance was always ~90%

I guess that’s true from a W-L perspective, but in the big picture, I don’t really think so. One of the big obstacles in rebuilding a program is the players’ belief in what they’re doing. Last week’s win was a “two steps forward” event in that respect. Today’s exhibition of ineptitude only negates last week if it turns into another loss in the next game, imo.

Because last night was Halloween and most of them were out till 5 am. Make it a night game on a Saturday and it would have been packed.

No it doesn’t, we still have a chance to go 10-2 and make a good bowl game. Yeah we’re not going to the championship or playoffs, but saying a freak loss to WVU negates the squad we beat last week is blasphamy.

We’re going from 4-8 to a bowl game and a potential 10-2 season, you know how many of those we have in our young program?

Yeah, that’s a bad sign. I don’t buy the “most of them were out late” BS either. The truth is that they just don’t care enough to show up. It’s like they have to be recruited hard every single week.

This is so false. This year’s student section is significantly better than Levine years.

The student attendance wasn’t awful considering it is morning after Halloween. We have a fickle fanbase in Houston. It sucks. But not much they can do at this point until they get the major revenue boost expected next year. Need some major investment in marketing to drive ticket sales.

Unfortunately the real answer is pay millions of dollars to hire a celebrity coach, like Lane or Deion or Lincoln and everyone shows up. At the end of the day people come for billboards. Just marketing and marketing takes money

University of Houston football paid attendance for
West Virginia game announced at 25,049. For a 7-1
UH team in contention for the Big 12 title.

I agree it’s pathetic. Maybe we aren’t a football school

Students have been more than pulling their weight this season. Early game the morning after Halloween was never going to be their best showing.

And by the by we are not a “young” program.
This is our 80th season of Football.

But we definitely are young in The Big 12. Recruiting, and $money, both are way behind many schools.

They have, but they weren’t great for the Arizona game, and they were much worse today. That’s a problem.
