100% it is money! We may be the only school in Texas not spending enough on players or keeping players. Young program means nothing, its all about buying players from the portal. We need the rich guys in here to step up and stop blaming the team.
A lot to digest, we played bad in all 3 phases. Without the turnovers we win. We couldnāt stop the run all day, we couldnāt pass protect, #1 had his worst game even though he passed for a lot of yards, he was a turn over machine. When your QB gives it up that many times, you canāt beat anyone. Need to forget about it, short week to go play another team we should beat. We canāt have a repeat of today.

Maybe. For me, Houston is a pro sports city. But even then, we have, as far as I know, 100k alumni in Houston and in the Greater Houston area. I would think we could have filled up TDECU to support our ranked Coogs.

Throw in that WV played as clean of a game as they possibly could have, and with all our turnovers, it was going to be their day.

WVU got a ton of rushing yards after contact. Their OL was blowing our DL off the line way too much. We kept going high and trying to muscle them back versus taking the RB to the ground. Their QB was poised and decisive. With a few exceptions, CW was indecisive and sluggish. Prob can skip the film and just flush this one. Still have a chance to go from steady improvement season to a really good one.

Many alums are not fans. Many alums are not even prideful of their degree. Add in the fickle nature of big city fanbases and high costs and you got 25k fans.

went to pick up my youngest from my parents after the game. Neighbors across the street have a kid that just graduated from UH, 23. Sees me and asked me if we had a football game today.

To their defense, not everyone likes Football or even sports in general. But, it is pretty disheartening to hear that.

By P4 standards, weāre in our infancy. Most have been playing for at least a century.

Weāve been talking about attendance issues for many years. At the very least, we should know by now that fan support is stronger when the team is winning and plays are played in the afternoon or evening. Matter of fact, I canāt remember one game where attendance was strong when the game started in the morning, not one.
Obviously there is no excuse for such poor attendantance but the A.D. needs to realize these facts. Does he not have any say with the networks when it comes to scheduling? Idkā¦ Just curious.
One of the most important elements of employee job satisfaction is earned success. If someone feels like actions produce good outcomes, that one has control over their destiny, they are much happier and more motivated.
This fan base has been through years without this feeling. Win and get your coach stolen. Win and get a middling bowl game. Win and get your strength of schedule mocked. Weāre finally in a place where we could have some earned success, we just need to actually experience it to overcome the hopelessness that a lot of more casual fans have grown accustomed to. Win and have it rewarded. We see it in basketball, just gotta do it in football.

That last TD drove me nuts as none of the players were ready to play. The DL did not even get into position. A CB was still running out to cover his man.
