The Unbreakable Game | WVU @ UH | 11AM November 1st | FS1

When we’re getting this kind of stuff, changes need to be made…pronto.

Upon searching my wife’s clear bag, security removed her sunscreen and gave her choice of throwing it in the trash or returning it to the car. Would’ve come in handy to reapply on my 4 year old daughter’s face, at the half but we just left instead.
Sunscreen is not allowed at a day game at an outdoor stadium in Houston? Blows my mind.

We seem to be reverting to Five Star form.

So they blocked fans from bringing sunscreen into a game that we wore black uniforms to honor a coach who just died from melanoma.

Guys in front of us had a tube. I dont know if they snuck it in, or if its one of those things that is enforced depending on the individual you happen to encounter for security.

Security have no say about it. Their pay is minimum wage. They have no authority to overturn directives from the AD’s office.

Unfortunate, but this is something that needs to be directed at the AD.

Exactly. We questioned the policy and about 5 more personnel walked up to confirm it wasn’t allowed. We used to raise Hell about this sort of thing but we just don’t have the fight in us anymore.

The game was overall an ok experience and my daughter had a blast. It’s just the small easy things.

They’d probably block me because I have an implanted device to reduce the number seizures I have and it would set off the metal detectors.

I tried to tip the lady at concessions on the screen and she said, “don’t tip those people.”

I was shocked. She said, “they don’t give us those tips.”

Who the Hell gets the tips?
Ms Patty’s.

Clear Bag Policy | University of Houston.

" * Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12”x6”x12”.

  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
  • A small clutch purse no larger than 4.5”x6.5”, with or without a handle or strap. These small clutches are subject to search.
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at the gate by arena personnel.

Sunblock/sunscreen should be considered “medically necessary” to prevent fans and kids from getting sunburns. If the AD is the one not allowing it, he needs to explain why. If it’s the people or company they’ve hired, the AD needs to address this with them.

These are actual numbers. This is not a meaningless stat. What I want to see is what is our plan to increase attendance? The fact is that we were 7-1 with a slim chance to make the BIG12 CG. Now let’s look at the good stat. No matter what you won’t like it. Yes we had 25k. What I want to know is what returns do we get from our outreach program? Do we even have one?
How other urban programs perform?
Which other schools compare best with UH and what is their ticket plan?
I am going to write it for the billionth time:
This is effing time for the following to happen:
A.D.
Ticket office
Bauer Marketing school
Landry’s through Tilman Fertitta
Hilton Management school
Houston Chamber of commerce
Local grocery stores association
Local gas stations association
I have probably left some. The point is all of these organizations have one thing in common. They bring people in. We are in a unique situation. Our location is not surrounded by restaurants, bars, clubs and outdoor areas.
Yesterday I had lunch in an industrial area with a unique hotel/restaurant/high end garage. We had good food in a location that is a hotel and a high end car repair shop. All were accessible to be seen from inside the restaurant.
Now, Houston, greater area Houston is vastly spread out. Do we have a ticket plan design around that?
I refuse to accept that we have done all we can to increase attendance. But we sure act like it. This has to chance.

I’ll get crucified for this but here goes. We were tied at half time. Then we come out with the most downer half time show ever. Followed up by a mental health suicide commercial on the jumbo tron. Just deflated the whole stadium. Maybe just the silence at the beginning was enough.
