This loss is on the offense

Defense did well enough to win

Agree. Defense was very solid. What is the story with Weigman. Chriss is just a gimmick qb.

Yah the fumble on the first play was killer. Ton of a mental mistakes. If you played this game 10 times this would probably have been the worst outcome.

Weigman was knocked out of the game

Yeah, the offense sucked. Lots of miscues to start the game and it only got worse from there. Give a lot of credit to their DC Wood, though. He’s a damn good coach and TT brought in a lot of talented players that can execute his scheme.

Y’all act like you can put Case Keenum on this team and pull out Ws. The offense from top to bottom has issues. Weigman is 1 out of 11

We have talent but not enough in the trenches especially offensive line. Fritz had to do a complete rebuild and need another good recruting class. Dont forget that Fritz was not able to do a full recrutiment blitz the first year due to when he was hired. We have good talent coming in this year.

i know that but I keep seeing his is out for the year… anyone have any clarity here?

This loss was to a better team. Blame the offense all you want, but Tech is the real deal. Probably a Top 5 program.

Good luck to them the rest of the season.

I definitely don’t put all the blame on Connor. Every time Tech rushed he was hit. There’s a reason why he wasn’t able to finish the game.

oh, no doubt. This loss isn’t completely on Connor, despite him not having a great game. The o-line got absolutely man handled and he was under pressure almost every time he dropped back to pass. This offense showed flashes running tempo but the play calling didn’t help. When you’re under pressure you don’t have all day to drop back and go long. You have to throw some quick short to intermediate hitters to keep the defense in check. Unfortunately, Connor threw into double and triple coverage several times and paid for it.

A loss is always a team loss. Conner played horrible. Let’s not sugar coat this. He will be the first one to tell you that. Biggest disappointment for me? Our offense play calling. Our OC failed this test. Again, no sugar coating it. Our Colorado game was for me the best blue print to counter teetech OL. Quick passes and QB runs. We did neither. The best way to beat this teetech offense is to “dish out” the ball as quickly as possible. Conner did it against Colorado. Why is it that our OC could not call the same offense? That baffles me. I would like to get a question asked to HCWF about this. We had no chance playing otherwise.

Here’s my take on the game from my coaching lens rather than as a fan.

This could have been a completely different ballgame had the refs not made the colossal FU on the punt return….been a long time since I have seen that bad of a call….that could have been a 10-14 point swing.
From a mental standpoint it wears on the players.

I still don’t think we would have won the game but Tech would have been on their heels.

Our backup quarterback is very athletic but makes poor decisions that cost the team….ex., in what world do you expect to complete a sidearm pass directly over the D-line? Answer is never.

1oo% need CW back like yesterday.

This team competes like crazy and that is a testament to the coaching staff.

Looking at the remaining schedule, there is not one team that we should concede anything to….this team is capable of winning every game from here out……I don’t expect it,….but I do think 8-9 wins is where this season winds up.

This team is tough as nails and no one is going to want to play them over the next few years.

Assuming Connor is ok. If he’s out season is pretty much over.

That was one poster guessing. Nothing was announced on the TV broadcast except it was an upper body injury, which could mean dozens of things.

I have to disagree with you….this team has guts and plays extremely hard….if CW is out the rest of the season ( just pure speculation) the team can still go 4-3 or 3-4 to finish out which would give you a finish of 8-4 or 7-5.

I am with you. What is surprising to me is how bad our tackling has been the last two games. That is a huge concern to me. We all know how HCWF works on fundamentals. What was bad against OSU cost us dearly against teetech. This game reflects in many ways how we have played these last two weeks. There is some serious soul searching that needs to be done or we are on a slippery slope. HCWF is the perfect leader to “corral” the herd. We can expect to win any games if we fail at the basics. This is not even mentioning our safeties. HCWF was left with a roster looking like Swiss cheese. We got fondued tonight.

I though some of defensive calls were poor on 3rd and long and who let’s the running back circle out of the backfield without anyone picking him up !!!

The deep zones on 3rd and 25 drive me up a wall !! That is a CWF thing. He use to do that at Tulane.

I miss DC Woods……but $55 million speaks.

The offense is not good to begin with. Put it up against a top-notch defense and this is what you get. I totally expected this.
