What f up on the punt return? The rule is if he signals fair catch, you have to give him the opportunity To catch the ball. Even if he bobbles it, you can’t touch him or the ball till the ball hits the ground. We hit him before the ball hit the ground. Was our guy blocked into the returner? Maybe he was. Don’t make it close enough to put it in the refs hands
Even with all the negatives, I still think we have a top 25 defense. I also think we have a very good special teams unit. I also think our skill position players are pretty good… prob top 40 with Weigman. Our major issue is what eveyone knows… the Oline… we have one of the worse P4 units in the country.
The official they brought in on the broadcast said they got it wrong.
Same. Likewise, running it up the gut on 3rd and long pretty much conceding the down drives me crazy! Such a conservative loser mentality.
Oh I didn’t see that. I only saw one replay on the stadium big screen
Young was pushed in the back which should have negated the penalty
No worries. Just giving you that side of it.
The only reason we even had any wind in our sails is because our defense did well enough to keep us in the game. Our offense was atrocious.
Love coach Willie but…. Watching his version of “offense” feels like a chore. Just brutal, ugh.
I’m sure the @dude will show up and try to explain why we are all idiots for pointing out what’s blatantly obvious though.
That’s all of it. That’s the entire story
We ain’t ever gonna dominate the trenches unless we get an NIL sugar daddy. We need a coaching staff who can get more outa less.
That’s Willie Ball. Ain’t changing.
The problem with the offense begins at the offensive line. There’s no spaces to create a running game. There’s also no pass protection.
Other than Koziol and Thomas, the rest of the receivers/TE are mid with no speed. Tech is just the better team with 55m NIL . Gave no rest for the defense.
Defense held Tech to some field goals but we did nothing on offense and Weigman was taking a beating and it got him injured. You aren’t beating anyone turning the ball over 3 times with 2 in their end of the field and going 1-16 on 3rd down.
This team went to a bye week and stayed there.
The frustrating thing is that it was obvious that we would need to do something different to give our offense a chance. We didn’t change anything except to make more mistakes, and that includes in-game coaching decisions.
Tech has the better team, but our guys were not prepared to compete on offense. Like, at all.
Couldn’t have said it better myself….
You clearly did not watch it. When you see it you will understand how the play developed. Get yourself a copy of the telecast. All announcers including the espn ref analyst said the call should have been a fumble for us.
UH’s O came out passing. I’m guessing the staff did not like the matchup between UH’s OL against Texas Tech’s DL, or UH saw something in the week that they felt they could exploit in the passing game. UH was never able to establish a consistent running game and had some good receptions, but certainly not enough to challenge Texas Tech.
Tough loss but move on to the next game.
