Some of things that are being said here are just downright sad and pathetic.
How many of the threads you read were started by Pearland? Or had a Pearland showing in them? Lol
Definitely some big time overreaction to the start of what we all knew would be a tough rebuilding season. The talent isn’t there, it’s going to take 2 years to get respectable, in my eyes. I get the frustration though because it isn’t like they are going to give you a “rebuilding discount” on tickets.
I think what you are reading are passionate fans expressing their emotion over a disappointing loss. I would rather have disappointed fans who care, instead of apathetic fans who do not support the program. As long as the fan base cares and is patient, UH will turn this ship around and be competitive in the B12.
I do agree over the past few days there there have been a few knucklehead posts on this board.
He’s been lying in wait for this exact moment. Wouldn’t surprise me if he had most of his posts on a word document just waiting to copy and paste.
Some people actually rag on the basketball team in game threads and want Sampson gone if he doesn’t win a Natty in 3 years or something.
Imao
It’s always like this here unless we’re good. I find it both embarrassing and entertaining.
I agree, it’s time for some folks to let their hair down and enjoy life. Nobody is happy with the results Saturday so let’s move on. CWF can not fix the mess Dana left in one game. This team will make improvements each week. So wear red, come early, and be loud!!!
There has certainly been some overreaction, but I understand the frustration fans are feeling. It’s going to take some patience, though, to recover from the previous regime and the neglect and incompetence that permeated the program.
Fritz certainly deserves a chance to establish his way of doing things, and that will take time. It’s crazy to be screaming for his head after one game. Our roster needs to become more talented and athletic and I believe Fritz will eventually accomplish that. Let’s hope some players who can help us in the next couple of years have breakout seasons and the team shows improvement as the season progresses.
Yep. People who think bad reactions to terrible performances are embarrassing would have really liked the days when there were like 1000 people in the stands and a message board that was equally dead. I’m way less embarrassed about random anonymous internet takes than I am about what we put on the field for the world to see last Saturday.
“Fire the coach!” takes are kind of dumb, but so are “we have to give it at least 2 years - be patient.” Neither of those are realistic, and you’re not going to refute one with the other. And like someone posted above, overreactions are the norm, so acting surprised when it happens after one of our worst home performances in the last three decades is kind of silly.
What was embarrassing for me was the alums turn out vs the student section. It looked even worse on TV with the re-watch the next day for me. Pathetic I tell you.
It is absolutely a business, complete with highly paid employees.
Why are we trying to shame the customers?
This board is the definition of champagne taste on a beer budget.
How much of a subsidy is athletics getting from academics ? That’s some expensive beer.
That’s what poorly-managed businesses do.
Coogfans never disappoints
LOOK.!!
Nobody was expecting a Championship team but looking competitive against a 5 loss G5 school, with a ton of turnover also including a new QB, in a the home opener and first ever game as a HC at UH with a WHOLE off season to prepare was NOT an unrealistic expectation.
UNLV will end up being one of our 3 easiest games on our entire schedule.
You don’t know that. UNLV could end up in the CFP for all we know.
Look at Florida State. Projected top 10 CFP contender and just lost to both unranked Georgia Tech and Boston College.
The first 3-4 weeks of College Football are learning processes for almost every program that doesn’t have previous momentum.
UH has roster turnover too, but we rank #1 with the most new players (some of whom never played a P4 game) along with an entirely new staff, system and culture.
Stop with the black and white comparisons of UH to other programs.
