This message board has been absolutely embarrassing the last few days

Nobody was expecting a Championship team but looking competitive against a 5 loss G5 school

Let’s see, UNLV lost to 9 win Fresno St and San Jose state and Boise State in the MWC championship game. But there is no excuse for them losing to Michigan and Kansas.

I disagree with the entire premise of this thread.

I honestly believe that the fans we actually have are the very best in the entire country. We have put up with decades upon decades of abject failure and we stick with the Coogs.

We here should have pride in OUR persistence.

Nobody here is responsible for losing a single yard, down or game.

If you don’t agree with me, gosh ding it, wake up and smell the coffee.

I don’t get this idea that UH always sucks. Just four or five years ago we had the most wins in the last eight years of any school in Texas. We won 20 games and two consecutive bowls in ‘21 and ‘22. To some extent the bottom fell out last year, and it’ll take a year or two to get back to being a winning program. But if you take away last year and the Covid season, we’ve won 76 games in the past nine years, which averages out to 8.4 wins per season.

Don’t limit yourself to the last few days.

Because for whatever reason our fanbase had this weird superiority complex over the rest of the AAC and C-USA and so the fact that we won three conference titles over our 25 years in those conferences meant we were embarrassing ourselves, because we really should have been a peer to the likes of Texas and A&M. 9-3 in C-USA is unacceptable by those standards.

Right, which is why the idea of a 3-4 year “rebuild” is preposterous.

I don’t think it should take four years. Guessing it will take two or three to get back to being a winning program.

I think everyone can deal with a loss. But to not be competitive was hard to stomach for most fans. The score could have been and probably should have been, worse. There was very, very little to cheer about and less to inspire optimism going forward.

I would be completely surprised if adjustments are not made. Biggest improvements usually occur between weeks one and two.
Granted OU can be tough.

I expect few football victories this season. Play will improve as the players become experienced with what the coaches expect and the coaches learn what to expect from the players…

I look forward to the next recruiting class. Fritz has extensive experience recruiting in Texas and Louisiana. Some assistants do. That class will indicate the direction of the program.

Man, you spoke/wrote my mantra! Non competitive for a UH coog team is fantasy! Can take most sorry A$$ coaches but just can’t stomach a laid back non competitive team!

For a good grasp on reality, Listen to The Coogs Rage post game with Bryce Beall. He’s forgotten more about the game than us Keyboard ADs think we know :grinning:

The only exciting thing in the game was the pick 6. Any one that paid to see that disaster should get their money back.

I’m sorry. It’s funny.

I eat good and drink good at the tailgates. Anything else is just a cherry on top. :joy:

I guess if yal want one glass half full story of the week, hearing the “university of houston” get name dropped about ten times during the longhorn game was cool. Thank you mathew golden

I still threw the cougar paw up

Spoiler: he had a monster of a game

Like the Hooks get mentioned on an Astros broadcast? Shout out to the developmental team he used to play for?

I guess if you can find a silver lining somewhere I can’t blame you

In all seriousness, the number of transfers is wild. Watching the LSU v USC and Florida State v BC games I couldn’t believe how many guys were transfers to those teams. And making big time plays.
