This week's Tulsa game will answer many questions

I have met a lot of Tulsa fans over the years. I have never met one that when that subject of beating them 100 to 6 was brought that hadn’t heard of it.

I think yesterday turned the corner for us.

In days gone by we lose yesterday, And, yes, Yeoman lost games like yesterday.

I predict a win at Tulsa.

Two half’s TT and Navy…

Tulsa has been a tough away game in the past.

Remember 2009? Tulsa was 4-4, we were ranked 13th in the country.

That is the diversity in the offense that I miss !

Wish we had a QB like Case. He was special!!!

About 98% of colleges wish they had a QB like Case

Uhh … we got whupped by TT who got massacred by the horns … then

We beat up some cupcakes and barely made it out alive again the worse defense in the conf.

Now a team who has a grudge against us along with their alums (worked at Gulf Oil and met many of them there) is favored by 4 and that is suppose to be a motivation for our team … sorry

but the only good thing about Friday is it could well be THE VERY LAST TIME we ever have to go to Tulsa again … they can come to TDECU for a game if our AD is dumb enough to schedule them in the future

Why any of you think Clayton will play?

I’m not optimistic and it has nothing to do with Tune.
I like our defense a lot but we can’t make them carry the team for entire halves.

It has more to do with play-calling and run blocking for four quarters. We could improve in both. We seem to run well for two quarters of every game.

I’d be happy if we just ran “good” for four quarters. Just give me 3.8 yds a carry during every quarter. That will free up Clayton and allow us to control the game and keep the D fresh.

Give me 4.5 yds a carry and we all ride on in for the big win going away.

Yes being doubted should be motivation. This team isn’t only doubted by media and the odds, but by its own fans like you. They should take that as motivation, the toughest team wins as Sampson would say. I know when I was playing nothing fueled me more than being doubted by everyone. I think our team has that chip on their shoulders, and will come out in full throttle

You’re right in theory. I think Sampson says, “toughest team” but I get your point. Teams that want to prove things are mentally tough. Maybe that’s where this team is headed. If it is then that’s a good thing.

When teams are doubted they always do one of 2 things. Either fold and just accept what everyone is saying and start to believe it. Or they go out there and play their hearts out every game and do eveything they can to prove them wrong. Like our basketball team does. I think our football team has the same mentally, I’m excited to see how they perform when everyone is doubting them and expecting them to lose.

Agree. I think with a few more hearty efforts this program could change some hearts and minds around here.

I think a good start is to go into every game like its the toughest game of your career. Its easy for us to deride the quality of our opponents but I’ve come to the conclusion UH brings out the best in every opponent we play. I don’t know why that is, but I believe it to be true.

Exactly, we are not going to the CFP, even if we win every game. Too many coogs fans are putting way too much stock in how we win, or how much we are supposed to beat a team by. Idc just win the game. All that matters is the W or L at the end of the day. Look back and try to improve but don’t dwell on the past game. You got the W, let’s move on and focus on getting the dub next week. Idc if we win 3-0, just win baby!

I fully expect the Coogs to lose both of the next games. I’ll be surprised if we beat Tulsa and impressed if we then also beat Tulane to get to5-1. It feels weird even typing that. That’s how far we have fallen.

Well we will add you to the list of the other many many doubters.

It’s not doubting.

Rice, Grambling, and Navy are 0-8 vs FBS teams. In the five matches against FBS teams not named Houston, they’ve scored on AVERAGE 5 points a game. FIVE. 5.

They’re really, really bad.

I hope we beat Tulsa but I would not bet on it.
