Not even close. UH is not that far removed from 0-12 and the end of UH football program. While we are not close to the pinnacle of UH football, 3-1 with a loss to a mediocre to bad Tech team is no where near the abyss.
To be exact, they suspended 9 players including 4 starters
Before the year started most said Tulsa was one of hardest games on the schedule
Tulsa smells blood in the water. They hate us and will be fired up as usual.
I think we only played 11 games in 2001, thanks for trying to slip in an extra loss. Wasn’t 11 losses bad enough for you?
Sorry! My bad! It just seemed like 12 losses…or maybe the drama around here has me exaggerating things.
I said this about Herman. Karma but didn’t deserve to be canned from Texas unless it was an issue much bigger than coaching (Example, Eyes).
I think Green and Trahan will be even more important now if Tune can’t run and they double cover Dell.
Because come hell or high water CDH wants him out there.
Tune is TOUGH no doubt. The other players respect him-that’s pretty obvious.
It’s pathetic we’re yammering about Tulsa.
They’re going to push our s@&t. Embarrassing.
I still think that.
It had me celebrating small wins during that game, like a first down or a good punt.
A 3.5 point underdog?
I’ll take a slant play to Green or Trahan for 8 yards ALL DAY. That’s a pass that Tune can hit even on one leg.
Agree. And Trahan will get you the extra 4-6 yds per catch to keep your drive going.
When you talk about 4-quarter play-calling you’re getting into my area of criticism for Dana. That and clock management. (If McCaskill didn’t go out of bounds before halftime its probably because he hasn’t been drilled on doing so. Does Dana practice the two-minute drill? Tulsa could come down to just that.)
Of course McCaskill was probably drilled on that subject in High School?
Middle schoolers know to get out of bounds in that situation. That’s on Alton, a coach shouldn’t even have to tell u that, but no doubt in my mind Dana has told them that 100 times in practice. Dana was yelling and screaming to get out of bounds that whole drive, than what did Tune do the last play? Slid in bounds lol. At the end of the day coach can’t go out there and play. Like @Twinmom said, this isn’t little league. At some point players have to doing their jobs.
By the by watch The NFL and you will see $Millionaires violating rules they learned in Junior High.
On Saturday night I watched the Oregon Head Coach ass chew his player for doing something Jr. High dumb.
Players just forget stuff in the heat of the moment.
I know that if you were to give them a quiz they would know the answer but even pro teams drill on 2 minutes. Its not so much the knowledge. Its more the programming.
