Tom Herman was on Rome yesterday

“It’s clear Herman is happier outside of Austin.”

That article seems to be before they got stomped by UTSA.
Still i love this
At Houston we had a president when we would go over the budget, it was like, here you go, just keep winning. But it’s not just money. It’s an emphasis, an attitude, a campus-wide culture."

Except, he didn’t recruit Big Ed

I would take him back. And honestly, if he were to do well, I think he’d stick around this time.

Just the fact that he mentioned Houston in a favorable light tells me he’s open to coming back. In his mind this is planting the seed. He knows the right people will read that article.

Notice he didn’t say anything about UT.

Burnt Orange and burnt bridges is his story.
And leaving rent cars at the airport
No thanks he cost us a chance at making the playoffs, lied to the players and fans and left even after Fertitta offered to equal Horn money.
No thanks and a big pass on the sissy trying to sling a sledge hammer

Only because he is at a step below UH now, and we are Big 12. Never. I would appreciate him returning our car back from the airport though!

I know some don’t want Herman back and even those in position of power at UH will never entertain the idea. But….

He understood Houston culture and he embraced it, made it a brand. Had he stayed, he would have recreated UH football into his own image, a consistent 9 - 10 win per season gritty program, with the occasional national run.

He was the guy.

This is the kind of attitude that immediately blocks out solid candidates as a long-term fit here as a head coach.

Forgive and forget if it means having a guy who 100% plugged himself into our culture.

I have forgiven and have forgotten all about him.
He will not coach here again. Book it Donno

Even if we were in the Big XII, I bet he’d have taken the Texas job. It’s one almost all coaches would take if offered.

UT brand, facilities and statewide support would be the difference. Come to think of it, that may have been CTH’s demise.

I was in the seats behind Herman and the U of H team while SMU was stomping us before he left. He already had his exit ticket punched for TU. He just really did not seem to care. No thanks. I will stay with CDH any day of the week. The best thing Herman did was get us the Indoor Practice Facility on his way out the door.
He could have had a statue built in his honor here if he had stuck around. He chose to walk away from
U of H.

Right now - no interest in CTH. If he kills at FAU then he can petition to get on the long list

There were good and bad things about him. I hated how he treated our great financial supporters at the end. But he was a lot of fun to watch run the program.

Is he still kissing the players? That’s a deal breaker

I don’t think that whole shtick he had going was sustainable long term. Yeah it was good while it lasted and all. I think his plan is that UH was going to be a short term gig from the beginning.

He was interviewing for the South Carolina job 6 months into the UH job.

Nope!!

CTH was all about CTH. He had a plan for UH…To leave at the first P5 job that appealed to him.

Give me a coach that has good moral and ethical standards that parents want to send their sons to.
