I don’t think it’s even debatable. The mid range jumper is a bad shot.

we mainly score off 3 the easiest 3 in high major college basketball (against a decent or better defnse) is the offensive rebound 3), defenses arent set up…

we are the winniest team in college basketball, in an era that the big 12 is at worst the 2nd hardest conference, without an intent to get to the FT line… this is a proven metholody at this point… we were also a sharp pump fake from a title, in statistically the best toughest basketball season in 10 year (accordng to the advanced stat folks)

and again 2 points to note:

1. half the big 12 runs a defensive system that prevent driving… Baylor and texas tech run the no middle … its a tradeoff defense than give up less perimeter defense to essure no driver gets in the post. (tcu’s defense isnt a true no-middle but built of no-middle philoophy)

   Kasnsas runs man to man, but has a philosophy called “jump the midline” where if a player is beat off te dribble, you gang on on him before he reach the paint to force the ball back out
   
   
   
   even the team that run straight man to man , like arizona and UCF they anchor around dominat low post defender… the 247 big 12 preview that when Krivas is in the game, they were top 5 nationally in allowing post points

guards driving is a mid major offense! they will give you true iso with no help at that level

i want to put an asterik here: im not saying they wont score… im saying they wont win! pj haggerty and Terence brown scored… but the defense making mistakes/transition dictates when you score… the great teams dictate themselves when they score

2. i could easily agree with you in a self serving way becuase Houston is going to go ot the foul line way more next year (every single gaurd/wing we have, 9 total, all but mccarty and jackson attack the paint heavily)…added 2 bigs known for drawing fouls in the low post

i just dont think you need it to win games… and beingover reliant on it in the big 12 is a formula for winning

note riley kugel hasnt commited to UCF publicly - huge for them, likely the missing piece from being considered a tournament team

Kansas:
Goes from being an inexperience young team with not alot of depth, but being crazy deep an older. note council is trying to play for his 5th year

Cincy:
majot depth piece for @justinhub2003 's team

Arizona state:
Moe signed a pro contract before knowing 5 for 5 was a thing - he has to deal with the big 12 ruling against playing pro players along with 5 for 5
arizona state has scary good players just not depth, would have been huge for them
