Cumberland’s AAC POY award was a joke. I will never forget Corey Davis (the real POY) dog walking Cumberland on his home court during senior day. It got so bad that Mick had to bench Cumberland.
Please allow me to revise and extend my remarks…
In seasons where Cumberland was a starter he did not have a winning record against us
But what about Jaron dog walking Houston in the AAC tourney championship?
33 points 8 rebounds
Corey Davis had 12 on 3 of 13 shooting.
Kenpom agreed too
And finished 6-4 vs the Coogs and 2-0 vs coogs in championship games
I know it has been a while since y’all have been any good, but lol on bringing up a conference tournament victory in his defense.
Corey Davis went for 31 in Cincy to seal the regular season conference championship. Will take that any day of the week over some useless conference tourney win.
OMG. He’s bringing up stuff that happened years ago with a different coach? That’s called grasping for anything to make yourself feel good.
This is now.
Do you mean Jarron? The Cinci player that lost the conference title to Houston was named Jarron not Jaron
I remember thinking how annoying it was when they made a big deal about Cincinnati beating us in the conference tournament championship. This was after we went to their place with everything on the line and absolutely humiliated them.
I’ve always had the theory that skyline chili came about as the poor man’s version of beef stew/goulash poured over spaetzle.
How was everything on the line?
You do know the AAC acknowledged its official
Champ as the winner of the conference tourney, not the regular season.
AAC awarded absolutely nothing for regular season champs.
Not even sure the coogs can fly a banner for it.
The real reality is… the coogs thought it was a big deal but the bearcats won when their team was actual hardware on the line.
But also I’m just messing around. It’s sad that UC pushed away mick Cronin and fell off the face of the earth.
Did y’all “push him away”…?
I remember him choosing to leave Cincy for UCLA but honestly don’t know much about it…
Sampson vs Cronin was a rock fight. Fun to watch
I think Cronin saw the writing on the wall that the conference was the Coogs for the foreseeable future and got out while the gettin’ was good…
Obviously people rarely say everything on their mind, but when he left he explicitly said it was because Cinci would never give him the resources to compete with the big boys. Something like - they’re fine with a sweet 16.
And he did get to the final four a few years later with ucla budget.
I too have always liked cronin.
So just say you are clueless and move on. I am sure you will disappear again when Cincinnati flounders again.
Just checked and only see TT with 10 scholarship players listed. Of those 10 their best player is injured and not likely to play next season so really it’s 9. Of those 9, three of them are going to be true freshman, two of which are not even ranked, and three returners combined for six points a game last season. There is a red-shirt so maybe he ends up being something. They have three transfers, two of them are pretty high profile guards, and from the looks of it, they will need to be great and stay healthy.
The AAC was turning into a legit basketball conference with UConn, Temple, Cincy, UH, Wichita State and then other schools like UCF, USF and Tulane…
I’m VERY glad to be in the Big 12 but that wasn’t a bad conference… it just sucked that everyone was always trying to leave it… lol
