That is cool. Just wondering.
Alpe goes home and pimps out during the summer….Turkey National team runs him ragged….needs some rest.
So guard rotation next season
1.Sharp 2.Dunn 3.Arcenaux 4.KJ Jefferson 5.Mercy Miller
Forwards rotation
6.JoJo Tugler 7.Chase Mccarty 8.Ramon Walker Jr
Centers
9.Javier Francis 10.Jacob McFarland 11.Ced Lath
2 potential portal adds
So point guard is #1 need. What about Tyrese Hunter from Texas? He transferred to UT for Chris Beard. And if things dont go well this yr at Texas, maybe he looks for a better fit
Cincinnati will probably be in a tough spot end of yr.
(2) good point guards on their roster:
*Day Day Thomas (Junior) = averaging 11.2ppg
*Jizzle James (Freshman) = averaging 7.6ppg
Depending on how this season goes, both will probably wanna be starters next yr
Maybe j’wan and westley Yates?
My wish list.
@Coog2010 that would be interesting…if Washington doesn’t make the tournament. The UW coach probably gets fired. Staff change
Maybe he comes back home. But he hasn’t played this yr.
So i feel Yates & KJ Jefferson would have a very similar role next season
Langston Love… He’s come back from injury and probably wants to start. Problem at Baylor is that they just landed a 5 star SG. (btw, has looked great)
Still holding hope on DQ.
We need an experienced PG, not a freshman or someone wet behind the ears, maybe Shead plays one more year with even more limited minutes and tutors his replacement?
Shead and Cryer are gone. Jwan Roberts can be back as per multiple comments from CKS. Dunn will be back so a starting 5 of Francis, Roberts, Arceneaux, Sharp and Dunn will not be bad though a true PG is missing. The bench will be Tugler and McFarland in 4&5,
Miller, Ramon Walker, Kordell in guards but needs atleast a true PG from the portal.
Hate me but that’s not a top 15 or 20 team in the country. Defense will be stellar as always but where’s the offense coming from Sharp? Unless Dumn return to his AAC mode, Sharp would be our only consistent scorer/shooter from the 3. No true PG and a Sasser/LJ type player will be a huge problem for us as well. And until TA figure out his shots (and position), I’m not high on him like most. We won’t know what we’re getting from our redshirt and true freshmen either. So many questions for next year’s rosters but in CKS we trust. But what I can expect is another soft OOC schedule next season except for the KU game in Mexico City and B12/Big East challenge game at home. But let’s all enjoy this season first. We could be in for a treat this year.
Is DQ a 5 or a 4? If he is a 5 he ain’t coming here to sit behind Francis, Sampson likes and believes in Francis and will play Francis over DQ
I like how people always post their opinions on what CKS is thinking as established facts
I hear Jefferson can shoot! I trust coach will have next year’s team ready for next year. No worries there! Francis and Tugler and Roberts will all be back and be way better in their own ways!
You’re problay right that Shead is gone after this year. And I actually don’t mind the idea of not getting a true pg from the portal and just another guard. Prior to Shead starting in 2022 we started Sasser, Edwards, Taze. I wouldn’t say Sasser is a true point guard but he’s someone who can be a leader on the floor and control the ball when times get tough and run the offense.
I think a player like Tyrese hunter could bring that same dynamic. A 1 and 2 of Hunter and Sharp would be pretty good and I would trust Hunter as a senior to control the ball and be a leader on the court.
And to be honest I don’t like the idea of Dunn starting next year. I like him coming off the bench. I like the idea of having a more athletic 3 in Arceneaux or someone from the portal.
But will Hunter be eligible? I know they let two time transfers play this year but does that apply for next year as well? Because he’ll still be in undergrad and has already transferred.
I don’t love the idea of Day Day Thomas because he’s not a very good shooter. 25% from 3 will allow the defense the sag and make our offense possibly stagnant
We may be committed to The Jumpman Invitational as part of non conference schedule next year.
@Coog1992 you’ve mentioned Langston Love a lot. But what would be the reason for him leaving? They were talking about him being a starter for Baylor next year and how he was waiting his turn.
@Footballer13 well, hes playing alot of minutes. So that kinda changes my analysis.
But, last yr Love played with Flagler, Cryer, George.
This yr hes playing with Dennis, Walter, Nunn
And next yr, some more talented freshmen are coming in at Baylor
My thinking was similar to Cryer, that he wasnt getting enough looks. Hes not on NBA radar at all. So look for a new destination
But Love recently has been getting a ton of minutes. At the time, he was only averaging 22mpg. Which isn’t alot
That makes sense because the 5 stars will probably start. But if he’s been getting more minutes maybe Scott Drew has more trust in him and he’ll have a bigger role next year.
I haven’t really watched him but he looks big and strong. I think Jamal leaves for sure and we have room for at least one transfer. But I don’t know if some guys like Mylik will still be on the team next year which could open up another transfer guard or wing
I hadn’t really thought of Tyrese Hunter but with the Texas blunders he could want out and he may want to stay in the Big 12 for his last year. I don’t think Rodney Terry is a coach that you think will help you get to the next level. He’s a senior and at least has some NBA aspirations.
