Due to injuries.
Doubt Sampson prefers to have a 6’5’ PF on the regular. If going small ball maybe slide Harwell or McCarty for a spell.

Nobody on here knows what we’ve paid… but we know we’ve received All-Americans and All-Conference transfers…
Granted Grimes was pre-NIL…
And we know Mac alone has given millions to the program…
idk if the prices in 2023 were as massive as they are now but we also got cryer after nil became a thing
And we kept him when NIL was a thing…
I saw a value of $385,000 on Cryer in one of the articles I just read… seems low to me but maybe SG is like RB in the NFL and not valued as much…
Sharp, Tugler and Issacs all pretty expensive NIL wise. The number each commands probably $750K+
The (3) freshman is what about 3M total.
Mercy is probably commanding some NIL.
Potentially Uzan returning - hes expensive.
So our top 8, i would say an expensive NIL roster
Not dogging our program, or our NIL.
I think Darrion Williams could command a huge number, plus he wants a big role. Give him the ball 10-15 times a game role
Is Sampson’s defense the same as TT or Creighton? I get your point but Pop will either play the way Sampson says or he won’t play. And I’m sure Sampson was straight with him before he signed. Sampson doesn’t sugar coat anything.
“Sakho’s per minute stats this year were comparable to Javier’s”
in a low major… where he was 6’11 and most of his competition had 6’7 center… i noted in a post earlier for the context of his league, his stats werent good …
ie. broome was doing 4blks per at his low major but only 2.1 to 2.4 at auburn
as for mcarfarland before his injury he was regualrly in the the red jersey in the offseason practices (1st team)… injury played into that, but he could have just left 2 bigs with the red jersey… mcfarlnad will be 2 years into the system…
Uzan has higher draft stock, that every draft pick that every prospect at UH but jarace at this point in the season… grimes jamal and sasser all had late stock boosts in the combine
All of Ramons minutes were at the 4 this past season before he was injured
SG should relatively cheap compared to a PG or Center but with how some of these players are getting paid I could see cryer getting north of 600k if he still had eligibility
How did he do against UH last season?
NIL has only been around since 2021, so the only comparable are Jamal and Marcus, both who ran out of eligibility. If you do not project as 1st round, NIL can be better these days.
I stated my context on Sakho. Not claiming he gets more minutes than McFarland nor am I claiming him to be 1st team All-American like Broome.
Ramon at PF because McFarland was out for the season. I get it, you like him. Not a PF. Only played meaningful minutes against lesser opponents, Sr year get some pt. Played 8 minutes total against Bama and Auburn. I wish him well.
3/16 on shooting between two games
8 games, statistically irrelevant sample size. He’s always had short hot stretches eclipsed by much longer stretches of horrid volume shooting.
Both Sasser and Shead had COVID year eligibility remaining.
No it was the best spot for RW. You can doubt all you want but that’s where he has been. I will let Coach worry about who gets the PT.
As a giy who brings up weight a lot, do have any concerns with McFarland getting pushed around. Seems like with Sakho would be a great contrast to that
We now have TA’s NIL $$$ to spend on someone else.
we can use some of that NIL to try and keep uzan from declaring and staying in the draft lol
help me with timeline here:
when do they have to declare for the draft?
when do they have to withdraw?
I expect both Uzan and Tuggler (and maybe Sharp?) to declare to “test the waters” like people do every year but curious on the dates
Forgot about Covid year.
Regardless Sasser projected late 1st round. Shead had NCAA defensive player of the year / 1st team All-American. Doubtful returning would have moved them up in the draft whereas Uzan could possibly play up to 1st round.
