Interestingly, when we played Rice, we held Connors to only 32 rushing yards on 11 carries (2.9 ypc), and 5 receptions for only 17 yards.
Both, obviously, are VERY uncharacteristic for him.
Our defense ROCKED that game!

Kudos to this staff. Coming off of a 4-8 season. And have absolutely crushed the portal so far. Says a lot about what the football community thinks of Coach Fritz.

Absolutely huge pickup, Fritz’s is quietly building one of the best rosters in the Big12. He knows what he’s doing and he can recruit his butt off. This is going to be a fun year for the coogs. 2025 will put us on the map! Ballers coming:fire:

I hate to be that guy, but you still gotta remember:
There’s the Spring Portal where some of the guys that stayed with the current roster can still bounce at a later time this year (à la Isaiah Hamilton).
spring portal time is critical as some are using it for more tape - others may have a landing spot but may need to graduate or so to make it work academically and others realize the writing on the wall and bounce

I expect some current UH players to hit the Transfer Portal this Spring, when the 2-3 deep roster comes out and they are not starting. Every school faces the same issue and has to plan for departures. UH should not discard it’s transfer target list; the same players may become available in April. Recruiting is definitely 24/7 in this day and age.
In the meantime, UH needs to replenish its NIL resources to be competitive to attract new talent, or keep existing talent.

Happy New Year Coogs! Sorry just now catching up with the portal list. Spent the last 10 days in the Sonoran desert. Ran into a lot of Boise fans there for the Fiesta/CFP. Anyway, glad to see the UH staff kept grinding with the portal though I did not lol.

Connors had a nice game against us the year we lost to Rice under Dana. Looks like he beat us mostly in the passing game 7 or 8 catches for 80+ yards thru the air plus 6 yards a carry on the ground .

@Joprior23 , heard that our staff was able to convince Noah Thomas WR from A&M to visit today. Can you confirm? Though perhaps low likelihood of signing with us, huge effort to even get him to visit if true. Supposedly will be at the hoops game tonight?
