You are exactly right. That is how it went down. They went to the CWS that year and the pitching staff was the best in the Big 12. People in the industry were shocked that he was let go!

Climie can play. I am not sure the pitchers will have much effect on the team.

UH bringing in Blinns catcher next year ?

Todd’s son? He went to Lamar HS in Houston.

It appears that two of the three UH signees from this JUCO national champion were named to the all tournament team.

I sure hope that they can produce for us. Goodnews knows we need SOMETHING!!!

5’7, 170

.267 average over two years with zero homeruns in 86 total at bats
.and 0-7 throwing out runners.

Those of you that know me know that I keep 99.9% of my criticism to the coaches
.

But this kid does not seem like a D-1 player guys.

Especially B12.

Nepotism at its finest

and another reason TW was not fired
.apologies if this is coming off negative but it’s reality

and after the last 4-5 years we have had I have no patience for this type of add.

If we were going to regionals every year I wouldn’t say a word but when the coaches are failing at so many things why are we doing favors?

Connor Bennet was a top 300 player in the nation and barely played.
Unless he is going to be the BP catcher this is not a productive move and it damn sure doesn’t look good.

Maybe BP catcher or a spot at the end of the bench with no scholarship.

Classic Coog recruiting
.it’s been bad for years. As Pollard has pointed out it has an atrocious reputation with local organizations and HS coaches. SICK of the excuses that are allowed to permeate this program. There is ZERO, NADA, ZILCH excuse for our program sucking this bad being located in the youth hot bed of baseball AND playing in the P4 Big 12 now. Can’t play the G5 excuse card anymore

I’ll give him a chance and assume this is the plan. The right kind of BP catcher can be a pretty nice asset that doesn’t really impact recruiting or roster management.

Looks like you forgot who the UH head coach is.

Well, to be honest, I do my best to put that out of my mind!

Our best years in program history was as G5. The problem was we never made the WS and our coach forgot how to recruit high school pitchers

HS pitchers are not going to make significant impacts on college baseball teams!

The really good ones do and we had our share during our better years. Remember Brad Lincoln?
But like linemen in football, the better pitchers go to the top programs or in the draft.
