The sec and big10 decide to do this?
Hold all Federal funding to every single one of these schools.
A class action lawsuit is to be deposed by all DIV I FBS programs.
Why?
Because every school have built up their programs to compete for the cfp title and March Madness title.
If any of the DIV I FBS school had known the sec and big10 schools would bail out they would have never engage in spending $B’s to upgrade their facilities.
Moreover, every single DIV I FBS programs except from the sec and big10 schools has bent over backward to satisfy the needs of these two conferences.
Sorsby’s temporary injunction hearing is today, June 1, 2026, at 9:00 AM, in Lubbock, with UH law grad, Judge Ken Curry.
The NCAA team almost seemed to just be going through the motions on this thing. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see an injunction issued that prevents the NCAA from enforcing its eligibility decision, pending a final determination at trial, unless something significant changes in these proceedings.
So, does this mean he can play or not?
It sounds like the judge is expected to make a decision with in a week.
If they can’t stop him from playing after betting 90k on his own team, what is the point of the NCAA? lol.

And prop bets for player performance on opposing teams of said school in hoops. Wild.
Judge Curry had the hearing and will rule soon. Sorsby’s attorney asked for the ruling by 6/15, so Sorsby can enter the NFL Supplemental Draft by 6/22. I think we will hear something in the next 2 weeks.
I wonder if the IRS is waiting in the wings to question him on his winnings or losses? That could be a bigger problem.
It looked to me like he was placing a bunch of bets that were very small in monetary value…
He truly does seem like he had an addiction to just betting on something and not actually trying to make $ on his bets from what I’ve read…
He didn’t do that. The 90K was for all bets over the entire period, and from what I’ve seen, his bets involving Indiana football totaled about $850, with individual bets ranging from $1 to $114 over the course of 6 weeks when he wasn’t playing. His bets on IU basketball totaled about $1400 spread across 50 individual bets. It doesn’t really matter in the context of the rule, but facts are facts.
The big thing that Sorsby’s team is fighting at this stage is the requirement for an injunction that a judge find “probable right to relief.” His only angle is the argument that the NCAA didn’t consider his “mental health” in making its decision.
The talking heads bring up an interesting issue scenario with Sorsby, questioning if his case will have any similarities to the Ohio St. Terrelle Pryor case. The NCAA suspended Pryor for 5 games ahead of the 2011 season for selling memorabilia. Pryor then withdrew from Ohio St. before the 2011 season, and entered the NFL Supplemental Draft. He was drafted in the 3rd round by the Oakland Raiders and the NFL honored the 5 game suspension from the NCAA and Pryor sat out the first 5 games, even though Pryor had not violated any NFL rules.
If the judge rules Sorsby is ineligible for college, will he have to sit out a season in the NFL? If he is suspended for a certain number of games and enters the Supplemental Draft, will the NFL apply the suspended number of games?
Lots of unanswered questions.
That’s a good question… ![]()
The injunction hearing is just the beginning. If it goes against Sorsby and there’s a chance that the NFL would apply a suspension, then his team would certainly continue pursuing the case at trial. But the NCAA didn’t suspend him - they declared him ineligible, which would not follow him to the NFL.
If the judge grants the injunction, the NCAA would likely right settle or drop the case because it would be decided after his eligibility expires after the season.
I saw one draft profile that had him listed as a 4th round pick. This seems generous to me. He is physically talented, but still raw and there is the gambling issue.
He’s an interesting case. I think he was considered a 1st/2nd round pick before the gambling stuff. I’ve seen his supplemental draft projections ranging from 1st round to 4th round. He could really help himself by playing this year, but there are probably several teams that will take a chance based on his talent.
I read yesterday that his lawyers had offered up a 2-game suspension prior to the injunction hearing. If the injunction goes his way, I think a settlement is likely, with a 3 or 4 game suspension being in play.
The Cleveland Browns head coach say that drafting him is a slippery slope. No one wants that.
Also, I wonder if the IRS is involved? Did he claim winnings? Did his family and friends that placed bets for him claim winnings? Another slippery slope.
How often do addicts recover after the 1st rehab stint? I’m sure there’s no risk of falling off the wagon if he played and collected NIL again.
I dunno, I can just see the questions and articles from the media after every interception. Or sack. Or fumble. Or just a bad throw. It starts with “just betting on your own team” but who knows what happens after a bad streak. Or you get in debt to the wrong folks.
