Tulane vs USC

Fritz has been elite at every level he’s coached, now FBS. Hate to keep repeating myself, man is a winner.

You seriously don’t think it’s harder to win at Tulane than Boise State (or Houston)? You don’t think it’s harder to win (and thus requiring more skill) at a program that hasn’t seen success in decades? You don’t consider that relevant context?

Shows we had the talent to do big things this year but didn’t compete hard enough in a couple key spots. That’s the difference between us and Tulane imo. Happy for their fan base though. It was a sweet win. Seeing TCU in the title game and Utah in back to back Rose Bowls shows what is possible for teams that elevate in conference. I hope Dana can capitalize on the momentum fully. If not then get someone who can.

I need tangible proof. You could even use 24/7 recruiting rankings. I need proof. Other than that, it’s narrative created in an echo chamber. And I doubt Fritz, himself has used that as an excuse. Show me the Carfax bro. lol

Who had an easier job winning at UH, Briles or Herman?

Not sure. lol Who do you think?

So no then. No difference between Tulane and Boise State.

Herman obviously because the groundwork had already been laid. That’s the difference between what Fritz walked into compared to what Dana walked into.

I think you are just trying to be contrary and I don’t even know if you believe what you are posting. Fritz is a very good coach and his lifelong coaching record is proof – or as you say, tangible proof. There is no need to argue further you aren’t changing anyone’s mind.

BTW, I am not saying we need to get him as our coach (though I did in 2015 & 2018), just recognizing his accomplishments.

Sir the burden of proof has been passed to you 3 turns ago. Please provide evidence before you reach for the Strawman.

No Mike, I think you’re a part of the Fritz echo chamber and that’s fine. I know exactly what I’m posting. I’m asking for tangible proof for why he couldn’t have done this sooner and at a more consistent rate.

I don’t expect to change anyone’s mind that’s making arguments based off how a coach makes them feel inside. Still waiting for proof of the obstacles he faced at Tulane. Save the narratives.

Because the talent level at Tulane when he walked in there was among the worst in the country. I forget the exact count but I think they’d only had 3 winning seasons in 15 years prior to his arrival. He had to do a couple overhaul of their roster and rebuild it from the ground up. That’s why. Very similar situation to what Briles walked into here. Takes time to reestablish recruiting ties and build a winner culture. Much easier to win at a program with recent success and NFL talent already on the roster.

lolTulane

You think you’re refuting the argument but that’s precisely how programs become terrible and coaching graveyards.

Mack Brown went 11-23 at Tulane. Fortunately for both him and the Tarheels, North Carolina hired him anyway.

Was it comparable to UTSA? What about the talent at Coastal Carolina? What type of short turnaround did Chadwell have to reach double digit wins a lot quicker than Fritz. Surely it isn’t harder to recruit to Tulane than Coastal. lol

They’re better coaches. Fritz is a good coach but he is NOT the answer.

So ghost stories. No real support for why he has had a slow ascension at Tulane. Got it.

I’m not calling for Fritz to be our next HC, so not sure why you think I think he’s the answer. I’d say it’s similar to what Franklin did at Vandy. Also not sure why you think Traylors a better coach. UTSA loses anytime they play a team with a pulse.

So are 238 posts about an irrelevant bowl game high on CF? Very happy for Tulane and Coach Fritz.

They got better each year and Mack had them bowling in year 3. After he left, they started swirling the drain again
