TV Series

I’ve found Boba and Obi-Wan to be decent but ultimately filler. It’s content so I’ll watch and usually enjoy. Wiping out EU was all about copyright and royalty issues and having the ability to pick and choose what characters and storylines to pull forward. Some of the new canon books have been great along with the Fallen Order video game and I wish they used those as guides for the screen medium.

Terrible writing and it seems Disney doesn’t know what to do with old school characters that made many of fans to beginning with. These characters become lost within their own show and pushed to the side. Boba show was basically a commercial for the mandalorian and overall not very entertaining.

Seems like the perfect show to use to change the conversation.

I’d agree with that. Boba was missing any real motivation for Boba, then it had like a whole episode of the Mandalorian squeezed in.

My 6 year old is really into cheer right now. So Friday night me and the wife were surfing Netflix for something to watch and our little one yells that she wants to watch a show we happen to just pass by. We figured we would watch an episode, make her happy, then move on to something else. We ended up binge watching the whole thing this weekend. It was called Cheer and it follows the Navarro Junior College Cheer program. Apparently it’s one of the best in the country.

Kathleen Kennedy is just milking SW for maximum money.

Kenobi is just bad. Mandolorian was good but Book of Boba wasn’t.

They will squeeze every last penny from Marvel properties as well. Just look at all the Disney + content coming.

This person speaks the truth!!

Difference is the effort being put into Marvel is 5X the effort being put it into Star Wars.

Marvel fatigue is setting in.

Not to be a downer but “ Jerry” , the larger happy fellow is in jail for being a pedophile……

I just don’t think they understand SW. Or they just expect it to bring in money cause it’s a SW show. They have ruined Star Wars. There is a scene in the obi show where his lightsaber bounces off a stormtrooper armor.

The box office disagrees.

Ya. That was nuts.

The Umbrella Academy new season starts in two days.

My favorite streaming series.

I am not talking the box office yet. Just look at all the Disney+ content they will continue to push. I love the Marvel universe and I will see the movies…but the Eternals flopped…and the content on Disney seems too much moving forward and I am not alone in my feeling.

I have gone from being excited for new marvel content to feeling I have to watch it out of obligation now to keep up with the MCU.

I have loved Moonknight as a character but I gave up on the series. We are getting She Hulk Attorney at law, is that a series we need? They are just going to the well, like they have been with SW, too many times.

Moonlight would have been better as a movie. Not a series.

Eh I think they’re going with a diversified strategy of content which means that every release won’t be every fans’ cup of tea. There’s a larger tier between all the niche content but you didn’t have to watch Wandavision to understand and enjoy Dr. Strange 2. So fans will tune in to what interests them property by property.

But it is all about money. Disney will pump out content to keep or grow its subscriber base. But having a fractured audience is not good, it represents a shift in what fans considered “must view content” to a certain level of ambivalence.

Is the new Ms Marvel any good?
Did you like Moonknight?

Streaming providers need new programs, good, bad, or indifferent. People can get old stuff more than one place (generally). Lots of viewers like me just wait for programs to age into being run on all the second tier cable networks. So, compelling people to cough up money every month means offering new, new, new.
