Joan Jett was a lesbian

So what?

Yes, we knew that, hence the joke.

And she still is a lesbian, which is her choice, prerogative, and none of our business.

None of our business and yet you made a joke about it. I’m not anti lesbian or anything else for that matter. Just pointing out a fact and she’s clearly happy about it. There’s nothing derogatory about the word Lesbian. It’s 2025. I have gays in my family like I would imagine most do.

It was a joke….chill out.

What you don’t seem to understand is the joke was on me. It was a true story about a boyhood crush.

I said none of my business because at this point in life it isn’t. I’m not a boy with a crush, and she’s an accomplished musician.

Neither of us need to speak up for her.

You just didn’t get the initial joke, and I was probably being preachy defensive, for which I apologize.

Watched some of “The Hunting Wives” on Netflix.

Let us say that never, ever have I seen such scenes in a mainstream Movie or TV series.

You might want to judge for yourself.

My wife and daughter started Wednesday season 2 today.

Not sure if anyone has posted this, but I think that the new “Alien” TV series debuts on FX tonight.

I don’t have high hopes for anything new for the Alien franchise. Hope its good.

Not what thought it was about,

The new Alien series is titled Alien: Earth, created by Noah Hawley, and is set to premiere on Hulu and FX on August 12, 2025. The series is a prequel to the original Alien film and explores the emergence of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation and their quest to create new android life.

To me, it was like Aliens meets Avatar meets cyberpunk.

I really liked the Black Sabbath with Dio music (“The Mob Rules”) during the end credits.

As we would expect from this franchise, there was plenty of good parasitic blood and gore.

I saw Joan Jett when she opened for The Who about 10 years ago at Toyota Center. Entertaining. Not my type but entertaining.

I see what your saying about the comparisons.
Did you watch episode 2 as well?
I have to admit to really being intrigued by it. The Lost Boys team gives a weird juxtaposition to the horror. Sometimes I love it, others times I’m not sure it works. But I’m definitely going to see where they go with it.

I watched both episodes.

I didn’t realize that they were debuting with two episodes, but when I saw the start of the second, it dawned on me that that wasn’t simply a re-broadcast of episode 1.

We’ll see how the season develops.

Finished Butterfly on Prime. A pretty good action series staring Daniel Dae Kim and Piper Perabo. A few threads left open for a possible renewal.

Gang,

I never saw it during its original run, but I just watched the first two episodes of “Those About to Die” on Peacock, and that series is quite interesting.

It’s cool that they have the same creepy actor that played Ramsey Snow in GOT in a lead role.

Watched first episode….looks promising.

Do you think they go back to show what happened in the ship before it crashed into Earth? Some people have pointed out, that could be a Alien movie in itself.

Hard to say.

They seem to be doing a lot in the show that isn’t fully consistent with the prior movies.
