TV Series

I watched Tulsa King S3E1 yesterday, too… it was pretty good but the show just has just a little bit of cheez to it… I’m still in, though…

Funny thing is The Lowdown is also based in Tulsa… is Tulsa a cool spot?

I feel like I’m missing something here…

I did the first episode of The Lowdown. Feels very Elmore Leonard to me. Like a Dust Bowl “Bad Monkey”.

I like it so far.

The writing is great and Ethan Hawke is an all-time great actor

I don’t get the reference so now I have to research it…

I know it tries to be, I have a cousin in school there but haven’t talked to him about it. I do know a guy who got like an artist grant to live there for a year a little while back, so they are trying.

I think Ethan Hawke is one of our most underrated actors. Washington got the Oscar for Training Day but Hawke didn’t get any kudos for that role. Robin Williams got his agency to sign Hawke after his debut in Dead Poets Society. The director gave credit to Hawke for the ending, they rewrote it based on something he did.

@norbert Yes the Finale was disappointing. I thought the writing fizzled out. But i liked the series overall

Guess its time to start watch Lowdown

The Lowdown has kind of a Rockford Files feel to me - in a good way

My Dad would always laugh and say “Rock Hudson”

Pluribis on Appletv. It’s a sci-fi show and it took down the servers. You can watch it on Prime if you’re interested for free. The first episode at least.

Finally watch the second episode, and it’s petering out. The main character is super annoying. Started out as a good premise.

Down Cemetery Road and The Last Frontier are both on Apple and both worth a watch.

Ken Burns’ The American Revolution starts tonight on PBS. His stuff is generally excellent.

Finally figured out Pluribis. You guys are Carol and the people in the collective hive is AI. In which case, its genius.

It’s pretty good……she is gonna get her chaperone to finally see the light I think….thats my prediction.

Then they will lead a revolution in future seasons.

Season 2 of Landman is out…well the first episode. I’m going to wait until they are all released and binge watch it. I loved season 1.

Maybe I already know the subject of the American Revolution too well. I lhave loved Ken Burns series though the years, too many to list but Vietnam in particular with accounts from the NVA was amazing. I’ll keep watching as I love rhe subject and think its very timely with current events. The reaction by the colonists to standings armies in America was very telling.
