BBC gave it a good review.
I’m turning on Death by Lightening now.
I recommend Bobby For President, The Last Czars, and Turn. All on Netflix.
I’ll be watching the Knight show soon.
Season two finale of Landman was outstanding. I’m a latecomer to the series and I’ve enjoyed catching up with every episode.
Taylor Sheridan is a cinematic genius. Great cast with Billy Bob Thornton and Ali Larter.
Her career has come a long way since Varsity Blues. She’s older and still hot.
Saw a clip online of a recent interview she did where she talks about her famous scene from Varsity Blues.
Yes, it was a really good finale……
My only complaint with Sheridan is how he depicts women.
The writing on Mayor of Kingston is much better.
I’m 5 episodes in on season 2. You’ve mentioned this before and I was like “oh…whatever”. I see what you mean now. I’ll take it a step further and say I don’t like how he depicts Texas women. But I still like the show.
I like Landman very much.
My wife is madly in love with it.
Does it actually appeal more to women?
How does he depict women?
Irrational, stupid, and always wanting to have sex….
Not to my wife….her intelligence is insulted by the way the woman are portrayed….and like @Travelingcoog said, Texas women specifically.
Everything else about the show is great….i won’t spoil it for you but bringing in Sam Elliot was a nice move.
My GF and I both love Landman. Season 2 finale was muy bueno.
Not true with the Taylor Sheridan female characters in 1883, 1923, Yellowstone and Lioness.
They are strong willed, heroic, loyal, independent minded, displaying determination and fearlessness.
The pioneer women of 1883 and 1923 (Faith Hill and Helen Mirren) are brave, strong willed, defender of family and when needed stepped up into pivotal leadership roles.
The female socialite in 1923 was extremely brave to travel from Africa to Montana alone to be reunited with her husband when they were separated during the journey. She endured hardship, trials and tribulations alone the way and died at the end.
As far as Landman, the character of Ali Larter is another strong willed woman, intense and protective. She and her daughter enjoy the good life and can make Billy Bob Thornton’s life difficult, but also rewarding.
The Landman female attorney is smart, intense, at times ferocious when trying to represent her clients.
Beth Dutton of Yellowstone is not someone anyone wants to piss off. She’s more interesting than many of the other characters. She can take a beating and give a beating.
The Lioness women are CIA/military career personalities exhibiting strength, complexity and at times vulnerability.
If anything, the female characters of Sheridan are more dynamic than some of the male characters and far more interesting.
Ali Larter and the daughter in Landman are trashy.
Beth in Yellowstone was pure trash.
You can say they were “strong willed” all you want but the way Beth speaks to people, and starts physical fights is just not realistic….you don’t make it in life acting the way she did….which was trashy.
Ali Laryer and the daughter walking around in their panties with grown men around? Trashy.
There is no world that exists where she walks into the deans office and talks to her that way to get what she wants….thats not “strong willed” it’s classless.
The Hispanic girl that is with Cooper is the most realistic.
I agree about the two shows with Faith Hill and Helen Mirren.
But that’s about it.
Will just have to agree to disagree.
Mayor Kingstown, Tulsa King, Chicago PD, Fire Country, Sheriff Country, Landman. They keep me on my toes and entertained.
There does seem to be a turn happening in the wife a daughter’s story arcs. That said, I largely agree with what you’re saying.
Landman (like Yellowstone) is over the top ridiculousness but I enjoy it. I like it more than Yellowstone which I eventually just stopped watching.
I feel like Taylor Sheridan is like the white heterosexual sexual version of like Ryan Murphy or Shonda Rimes. In the sense that all three of them are really good for 1-3 seasons of a TV Show. But starting is season 4 they kind of just keep the same story lines but wildly up the ridiculous level.
Best quote “You’re the trailer park and I’m the tornado”
Landman is great even though the final two minutes were over the top.
Can Bentley produce a better commercial than Ali Larter and her daughter in and out of their convertible. What a car.
Episode 2 of Knight of the Seven Kingdoms tonight.
Episode 1 was a bit comical.
