Alexis returned to UH this month and has hit the ground running. She will be a 1-2 punch with Chief Revenue Officer Alvin Franklin. She will oversee communications, marketing, fan engagement, creative content, and our broadcast services.
She’s no stranger to Houston – 15+ years between the Coogs, Rice, and Theater Under The Stars and she’s got family here, too. She’s excited to be back at UH and eager to start rolling with her team. I suspect some of you may have met her this past weekend at the Spring Game and I’m sure you’ll see her at some of the Coaches Caravan dates, too.
I remember a few games where I actually counted less than 5 or 6 hundred. It was really depressing, but I kept going anyway, somebody had to be there to cheer for our guys.

Jeff, would it be fair to say it would be easy for Colorado to get Marketing team of the Year when you hire Prime? Having said that, I look forward to meeting Alexis on the Caravan to Dallas, May 18. We know UH could use a good external marketing program. UH signs and merch should be every where in the city of Houston, especially after a Texas Bowl win over SEC or FF appearance, or even signing the #1 QB in the country for 2026. It should be easy to promote UH in Houston, but that is our challenge.
There is no question Prime is a factor – But that award takes a lot more than a big name hire. That award is scored based on several different categories:
Revenue Generation which entails campaigns for the following: New Revenue, Ticket Revenue, Fundraising, Sponsorship, and Quick Sales
Brand Management which includes static materials, branded collateral, digital media, and more
Fan Development which is membership drives, game environment, etc
Plus special scoring for single game/sellout campaigns, year-over-year growth, and community engagement.
This is probably way more in the weeds than you wanted for a reply, but it speaks to the award being very wholistic – not just “Prime is our coach, buy tickets!”
That wholistic approach (and the strategy/execution that comes with it) is exactly why Alexis was brought back to UH. Because we do need more ticket sales. We do need more fundraising dollars. We do need better visibility and options in merchandising. But none of those can be done in a silo – It has to be a comprehensive effort. That’s where Alexis’ leadership will be invaluable.
lol - Prime made the job very, very easy on the front end where you can throw stuff at the wall and it stuck - now how do you sustain it cause in the interest isn’t the same anymore and they see the writing on the wall
Tulane and UTSA are strong choices. It would be great to continue to play them some in future non conference games. We are done playing Rice. We have refused to schedule them in future football and cancelled the games we already had with them.
More grassroots marketing needs to happen. Students were good game one, but slacked off after that.
Needs to be more of a targeted effort to get different groups to the games.
Also need to look at ways to lower concessions prices or do deals. Way too expensive when other places have been known to make more sales with lower cost.
