UH RB Recruit Johnny Hebert

I truly hope that he pronounces his last name “Haybear”. One can never have enough Cajuns on the roster!

Should be a packed game. A lot of kids that go to Strake live in the same neighborhoods as the kids zoned to Lamar. They probably even went to the same elementary and middle schools together. Go Jebbies!

There’s a EE prof at UH that is from Cali and pronounces his name “He-Bert”…

This COULD be his son…

Yep! That H.I.S.D educated brain of mine just didnt quite kick into gear.

We can watch John Hebert live this Friday at 7:00 as Strake Jesuit plays Houston Lamar in a playoff game.

Here is the link to stream the game: Houston Lamar vs Strake Jesuit – 7:00 pm – 11/21/2025 – Football – Area – Playoffs – Live from Delmar

My grandson is a WR for Strake Jesuit, #80. Of course they seldom throw the ball because of Hebert and he may not play this game … disciplinary reasons. Where did he get that from?

Go Jesuit … Go Hebert … Go Coogs!

Very true. A former Lamar QB’s brother played TE for Strake.

Ask your grandson if that’s true or just a made up rumor

This Redskin will be there…… to see Hebert in person

A high 4 star at that. #140 overall. Composite is still around 300 but still in 4 star range. I was wondering how that much production and only a 3 star.

Level of competition is usually the culprit. But even then, numbers don’t lie!

He plays in a 6A district in the Houston area, so it’s not a competition issue. He’s listed as 5’10" and 185 lbs - I think his size (primarily weight) is the main factor. And he’s fast, but I haven’t seen it measured at elite levels.

Say what? Strake Jesuit plays in the top division in Texas.

There have been several guys that put up HUGE numbers in 2A and 3A and been top 100 in the nation….

Terry Bussey beat my Ganado in the semis in 2023. He was a 5 star out of Timpson. Traylon Shead and Malcom Kenedy 2a Cayuga beat my Ganado in the semis, both played for UT and A&M. Brooks boy Shiner 4star from a 2a team. Brooks cousin Hallettsville also beat my Ganado 4 star rb at the 3a level.

The Schoebel cousins Columbus last year 3 and 4 star players at the 3a level.
