Other than men’s basketball, in which we split, have we beaten Tx Tech in any sport this year? We have not beaten them in softball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, m and w indoor track conference championship meet. We may have not beaten in any sport for two conference years now except for m basketball. This needs to change asap.

Latest national HS softball rankings. 5 out of the top 9 teams are from Texas. Unfortunately, we don’t have a coach who can recruit. Not sure what she can do actually. No reason we can’t at least be competitive with a new coach even with the big nil dollars going to the best pitchers.

10-1 loss to Arizona. No excuse to be this terrible.
I watched the game broadcast for the Arizona game and was amazed at how often the commentators said the team is young and that they are going to be a strong team in the future. It left me with a couple questions.
Why is the team young (rebuilding) did we graduate to many successful classes the last few years?
What has this coaching staff done developing players that make you believe these young players will be properly developed?
It all makes me wonder how coach Vesley hasn’t been fired years ago. If she isn’t let go the day after the team is eliminated from the Big 12 tournament this new administration is a joke.
Everybody who follows softball is wondering the same thing.
According to Duarte, her contract expires this July. Another unfathomable decision by Pez to extend her contract for one year last season.

Have her announce resignation the day after Big 12 tournament. Pay her the rest of the contract through July at her regular payday dates. Start coaching search immediately and have a new coach for July 1 (earlier if possible). It matters for next years recruiting contacts.

Update.
Final, lose 5 zip. Horrible coaching. Gave up 4 runs in the last inning by a pitcher who had previously been ineffective when the others had been doing so well. I just don’t get it.

Will they make the Big 12 tourney? How does that work?
Yes. Looks like they will be the 11 seed in Wednesday’s single-elimination game against the 6 seed (BYU).
So the season ends Wednesday? Got it.

We have some solid youngins so hopefully we can keep them if the head honcho is terminated. One in particular could probably receive decent NIL offers.
