After not being able to kick it into the endzone during the Texas Bowl I imagine getting a kicker with a strong leg is a priority.

A kicker that was a starter should be the priority, like the linebacker starter from the blue blood school of ole Miss.

Now that a lot of the portal movement has slowed down for us it seems clear that Fritz is going all in on our guys just like he said he would when he came in talking about recruit, retain, develop. Houston could easily have brought in a bunch more transfers to compete for spots but you have to find the right balance between that and keeping the young guys you have recruited and are developing happy.

I agree, he is a big pick up. Young man was a fine LB for Ole Miss…multiple tackles in playoff wins…and a great LB at Marshall the year before, also, almost 120 tackles for that season. He will be a big asset for our D next season.

He is very young and has his whole career in front of him. THATS nice…SEC schools make it a point to have good kicking games, so any kicker we get from an SEC school sounds good to me. Great info from Pollard and JL about the kicker, thanks!

That’s only the time to initially enter the portal.
Once a player enters the portal, I think that he can transfer anytime up to fall camp this summer. Now if he wants to go through spring drills at UH, then yes he needs to decide fairly soon to be able to enroll in classes at UH this spring.
