UH va Tulane game 1

Drezek with the 11+ ERA starts for Coogs….hope the kid has the game of his life.

He has given up 31 hits and 28 runs in only 22+ IP.

Why start him, saving arms for later games I guess, we don’t have any one better that won’t cut into our prime rotation?

Tulane going with their #1 starter….not saying a lot because he sucks but still pitching advantage them.

I don’t think we are saving anything….when it’s lose or go home you can’t afford to do that…I think between guys hurt and others not ready to throw again this is what you get….

We have guys that can come in and throw an inning or two…

This may be the strategy…pitch different guys an inning or two so they don’t get a second look at anyone…it’s what I’d do.

6-6 bottom of fifth

Unreal. Coogs score on an error….ball lost in the sun. 7-6 Coogs

Tulane pitcher gave up 7 runs….only 2 were earned.

Tulane is not good.

8-6 Coogs after a dinger by Drew

Justin Murray, a Dartmouth transfer, is from what I can see, quite an impressive ballplayer. Just drove in a 2 out run bottom of 6 (Coogs up 9 -6), then promptly stole second.

Doubtless he will be called on as the UH closer, a role in which he has excelled.

9-8 good guys bottom 7th

Start inning with a triple… inches away for a HR

10-8 good guys

Next game this evening will be even more of a “pitchers duel”

You guys should all be cheering for USF after this game.

10-8 good guys… 3 more outs and we’re moving on

11-8 bottom 8th :+1:

Teams may be pitching their waterboys by the end of the next game.

Closed them out in the ninth 1-2-3. Coogs win 11-8! Sets up a big game this evening.
