I didn’t make the list up, I googled "Members of Nato that were in soviet union and that list was produced. Now I can’t find that site again. But I just looked up Members of Nato and this is what I got and it does not contain most on my above list. I will alter my list.
I totally agree. My post was all in jest in a way of making light of all the talk that goes on in Satellite threads. You’re very capable of holding your own over here. Me not so much, so I’m out!
I don’t believe Putin needs to invade or will invade Ukraine. He already has it. His troops on the boarder virtually guarantee no outside investment from foreign companies to help it thrive. Biden’s speech a couple of weeks ago also created doubts in what our response would be and whether that was said intentionally or not, it helped Putin.
All Putin needs now is a pro Russian running that country again, and he will get it next election cycle. What you are seeing now is just noise. For all intents and purposes I believe Ukraine has been decided.
I believe Ukraine is settled. I would not invest in a country that had the possibility of being invade and had its future in doubt. That’s what Putin has created in Ukraine, doubt about its future.
As far as what Putin wants next or if he even wants more is anyones guess.
The question is what if he wants just one more country? And I think the consensus was that as long as that country he wants does not belong to NATO. It’s all good because we have no chance or interest in helping a lost cause and there is that nuclear war possibility so, just let him have it.
Yes, I would say for a polish person it’s probably 75% of Ukraine and 40% of Russian.
The Ukraine has a large polish population and parts of what Ukraine is now belonged to Poland at different points in history. Lvov what is now Lviv used to belong to Poland not to long ago, just one example.
Poland fought and won a war in 1920 against the Bolsheviks over Ukraine. Some theories suggest that this was the reason why Stalin joined Hitler in invade Poland In 1939.
I don’t know. We left Poland when I was a year old. When I was at NYU there were a group of Ukrainian and Russian foreign grads that I befriended and so my numbers come from hanging out with those guys but there were no Belarusian in the group.

The truth hurts NRGcoog. I do not blame you. So much hope that turns into constant lies.
Regarding Ukraine being poor is only due to past and current aggressions. Ukraine by its natural resources is rich, very rich. Having a true independent government not at the mercy of the Russian going after them would transform the country into a major European player.
Germany is not our friend. We share some common values and they are more than willing to allow our troops to be there to defend their country and to be permanent tourists there.
Please try to use real news sources; there was a graph presented to you
about this a few days ago. Thank you.
As it stands your comment that board of directors should only seat a “gas genius”
just shows your bias to not think critically. Was he experienced to have a seat ?
Not from what I’ve seen. It looks like it was a move to gain favor or possibly peddle influence.
But you still haven’t shown that connection effective. Keep trying.
I have a Ukrainian patient who married an American. He is in his 40’s and she is in her late 20’s. They had just taken their kids to Disney and so I related a story of my first time at Disney, when I was about 10 years old, she told me that when she was ten years old, mom and her were picking potatoes in the potato fields. I think some folks have no clue what poor can really look like.
